I saw that same or another photo from Cannes..not only is her anorexia (or drug use) 10 times worse than before, she looks seriously, seriously ill - she's standing there with a cigarette and a death gaze. Maybe she has a death wish...
This Aussie (discussed here re: drug use) who is now said to be a natural blonde (could have fooled me)...would said Aussie be the mother of two adopted kids with an ex-husband who makes fundamentalists look sane?

One of my favorite lines about Bolivian Marching Powder:
Cocaine, what a wonderful drug! Anything that makes you paranoid and impotent ... mmm, gimme some of that! -- Robin Williams

I'd just like to go on record and say that Kate Moss getting her contracts terminated because she was photographed doing blow pisses me off. Maybe Ma and Pa Kettle in Bumblefuck, Nowhere don't know that models and actresses do coke to stay thin, but there is no way their agents, reps, and employers don't. It just seems so hypocritical that they don't seem to care what their talent does to their bodies as long as they stay below 100 pounds, but once photographic proof comes out of said drug use they clutch their pearls and act shocked. [/rant]

[/rant] I'm guessing they know about it and condone it, but don't want the public knowing about it, because it would look bad to Ma and Pa Kettle. If they said "We saw her, and we're still keeping her." you know there'd be tons of angry letters and phone calls - which in turn could be bad for business.

The whole thing with Kate Moss is completely for PR purposes. Most companies, no matter who they are or what they do, don't move to make changes until their customers start screaming about it. While that seems hypocritical, that's just how most of them work and I can understand firing a spokesmodel with a bad public image so you don't lose customers. Not fair necessarily, but I understand why it happens. Big companies are more interested in money than morals until their lack of morals end up costing them money.

[/rant] ITA with this. I was shouting it yesterday during The View, when the biddies got all their panties in a knot over a model doing coke. I wish someone would have the balls to come out and say she's not the only sleb on drugs. Maybe I can write my Congressman, and they can get on this as soon as they're done with that steroids nonsense.

They don't necessarily condone it, they are just happy to look the other way. A what-you-do-in-private-is-your-business sort of thing. (Which is the way it should be, I think. As long as people are doing their jobs satisfactorily, I don't think employers should be going on witch hunts to find out who uses drugs in their free time.) Unfortunately, Kate forced their hand. They can't look the other way when there are giant photos of her on the cover of The Mirror snorting blow. Now that it's public, Kate's employers are forced to take some action either supporting her or sanctioning her, and most companies don't want to come down on the side of allowing drug use. I really don't think it's hypocritical, it's just the natural result of Kate getting caught in such a public manner.

That's my take on it, Ginger. I'm not going to get up H & M's butt about it. It's Kate's life and these are her choices. And really, was she going to work, and snorting the coke on their tables while they were negotiating the contract? Probably not. They knew about her use, I am sure, but what can you say to an addict? She's an adult, and they aren't her parents and even her parents can't force her to stop. I'm sure she'd react badly if they (the company) tried to speak with her, and then again, who's to say they didn't?
Now, that her choices are affecting their company publicly, they've got to cut her loose. It's business. It's her chance to get herself cleaned up. Hope she does.

They've done their bit for anti-drub publicity by firing her, now if Kate does her bit doing a high-profile stint in rehab everyone who let her go will be able to welcome her back like the prodigal daughter. Everyone's just going through the motions.

Apparently Rose McGown was pulled out of a T-Mobile party in handcuffs on Tuesday when she was caught snorting coke.
So who else is doing drugs? I've got to say that I'm really enjoying this thread.
