Someone needs to point out to Aunt Starla that George doesn't live there and hasn't lived there in ages, and unless he's going straight for the presidency no one gives a shit about what people in northern Kentucky think about him except other people in northern Kentucky.
Regarding the weight discussion: Stop with the sniping.

Well she's been staging photo ops with George for the last or whatever, so she's not really new to them. Those look like working/vaca pics to me. I have cupboards full of boxes of pics that look just like that from orphanages in Siberia, kids flying kites in Nepal, dinner with gov officials in Ukraine... The only difference is she has Clooney in her pics and I have the Mayor of Nagasaki. According to People (which got the exclusive photos), this wasn't a working vacation...this was as a romantic one.

The Daily Mail has an alarmist bullshit article about Amal's religion. Apparently one of the leaders of Amal's faith isn't aware that he (you know, as a dark-skinned person of middle eastern descent) is supposed to have these violent sentiments. And an actual quote from an Alamuddin family member isn't at all distressing: Yeah, I don't think George has to worry about his penis being cut off any time soon. The worst thing that might happen to him is that his ego will take a few hits what with Amal's family and friends not understanding that George is the ultimate catch and Amal couldn't possibly do any better than him. Here's a straightforward, prejudice-free article that explains relationships and marriage within Amal's faith in case anyone is interested: LINK

OT: I once worked with a Druze guy. He had green eyes and was super hot.

I have never heard of Druze before. Huh. And who says celebrity gossip is a waste of time??? More on topic... Now seeing what Amal would be giving up, culturally if not religiously (assuming she likes her background), I'm doubly surprised. And I thought my mom was hardcore when my brother married a non-Catholic...

Most people know the Daily Mail is crap, hence the nickname. Why he felt the need to respond to one of their stories is beyond me. Most people didn't believe it anyway.

I'm totally okay with him calling out something so blatantly Islamophobic. Also, I think it's easy, especially in the world of Internet gossip, to sort of be in this bubble where you and everyone you know think that the Mail is crap but the fact is that it's nowhere near going out of business. Obviously there's a big market for the racist, exploitative bullshit that they peddle and I don't think it's completely ridiculous for him to call that out.
Having said that, I wish he had been more explicit about why exactly the article was crap and I am surprised he took the time to write a response at all.

That's my point, petitesuite. He doesn't ever get around to being specific about why it was offensive. I learned more about the Druze from the discussion on Celebitchy than from the man, who's family was supposedly harmed/put in danger by the article.
I love George, but I'm becoming increasingly over this engagement and I can't figure out why.
