If you're going to wear fancy dress gloves, they need to be wrinkle-free and flawless. Hers look like rubber dishwashing gloves.

I hate the gloves and I don't particularly like the gown but the getup makes her seem more "normal" and puts her sashaying down the streets in cute outfits in a different perspective for me. She looked like a regular gal playing dress-up because she's married to a movie star, as opposed to the polished stars who have stylists to keep them on point. Viola Davis was perfection because that's her job. It's not Amal's job. During the wedding extravaganza, she came off as trying to do the movie star thing. Here, she looked like many non-celebrity wives of famous actors - perfectly fine and occasion-appropriate but decidedly unpolished.

She's beautiful and they look great together. Didn't like the gloves. Loved the dress except for over the shoulder capey thing.

The Cecille B. Demille award mini-ceremony didn't have the same genuine feeling of years past to me (though I'm admittedly biased this time). Who was at his table besides Amal? Usually we see family and friends smiling and glowing, not just the spouse. Amal kept looking at him in the way a worried mother looks at her sensitive child. I can believe they feel affection towards one another, but I don't see the easy intimacy of a marriage there. Don Cheadle and Julianne Margulies seemed to stick pretty tight to the script. There wasn't much eye contact or off script banter between the stage and George's table. And his speech. Ugh. Let the Gravity joke go already!!! Amal should consider herself lucky that she wasn't the butt of the Big Eyes joke or else she might have been ordered to get herself papped wearing googly eye glasses to prove what a hilarious sense of humor Mr. and Mrs. Clooney have.

I'm going to be a rugged individualist and say: The gloves didn't bother me so much. I've seen gloves like that before and they were deliberately...bunchy. What I found more curious is that she was very low-key both on the red carpet and during the show. I got the feeling from previous camera options that she was more vivacious, but of course, I could be wrong.
Topic: George's speech was touching, especially his acknowledgment of Amal. But, as highondegrassi pointed out so well, where were the friends and family?

I think black gloves would have worked better with the dress. Amal is a beautiful woman and didn't look out of place with the professionally glamorous women in that room. I loved Amy and Tina's joke this year. George married way, way up.
I love Don Cheadle, and Julianna Margilies is lovely but I thought they could've pulled in some bigger star power for George. They couldn't get Julia Roberts or Matt Damon to present to him?
And is Amal sick of hanging out with Cindy and Rande yet? Because I would be. They are probably perfectly pleasant people but I can't see them having more to talk about tequila, hair products and their favorite Cabo beaches.

Amal looks over it! Weddings are so much fun...but then you have to contend with being married.

I thought it was great that Julianna and Don gave his introduction. They've been friends for years and I'd rather see friends give the introduction than Matt Damon or Brad Pitt who I don't think George is really all that close to.
His speech was surprisingly touching and he was pretty nervous up there. I expected him to be more blase about it.

Hmm, why weren't Julianna and Don invited to his wedding? I wonder if Mr Hollywood doesn't have as many close friends as we thought.
And yes I too wonder what Amal Clooney and Cindy Crawford talk about, although Cindy was valedictorian of her high school.

Maybe they were invited and couldn't attend. Julianna would have been in the midst of filming The Good Wife, so a weekend jaunt to Italy may not have been feasible.
