Didn't she practically have to be dragged off the stage when she won an Oscar?

While it's not unusual for actors to ignore the orchestra playing them off when they want to finish their Oscar speech, Julia told the "stick man" (i.e., the Orchestra conductor) to put down his stick because she was going to keep talking and a lot of people did not find that as charming as she did.
She also had a run of being a terrible award presenter. She presented a Best Director award at the Golden Globes, was positive that it was going to go to her buddy Steven Soderbergh, and when she saw the winner's name, her face fell as if somebody had just slaughtered a puppy in front of her and did nothing to hide her disappointment when she announced "Ang Lee".
She had wanted to have a big party on stage with Soderbergh like she did when Denzel won and she made it all about her and how happy she was for her BFF.

ITA, Ginger. I think this particular run of George and Julia is annoying me more than usual because it underlines the fact that they think their "chemistry" is adorable and I completely disagree. It's like when two movie stars become (or already are) BFFs and decide that they make a cute showbiz media thing, see Amy Schumer/Jennifer Lawrence, Matt and Ben, George and Brad, Julia and whoever. I think Catherine Zeta Jones suffered from this too when she was on her "Chicago" Oscar run and when her husband was still winning awards - she was always jumping up and hugging people coming down the aisles at award shows. Sit down!

Is the Daily Mail ever impressed with any woman other than Queen Elizabeth?

Is the Daily Mail ever impressed with any woman other than Queen Elizabeth? That's because the Queen doesn't go around 'flaunting her pins' and 'displaying her pert derriere.'

Cressida Bonas got good press with them, mostly because they could use her "upper class" connections to bash the Middleton family.

I don't really care about George (or Amal) one way or the other. But that was just a vile piece of hateful trash.

Well, that and by convention she's not able to publically express an opinion on anything, so tends to be silent beyond politely murmured small talk.
