Gotta say that for all Sandhya did not exactly cover herself in glory in her final episode(s), her attitude was quite the contrast to Korina's in this one. Granted she's had a little more time to get over being eliminated, but she was actually cheerful and a good sport. The pink thing she and Sean put out was ridic, though. I felt really bad for Emily. I thought her comment that whenever she really liked something, the judges hated it, was sad. Can't say I've always loved her stuff, but I also thought the judges have had an irrational bug up their ass about her all season. Amanda's long dress was probably my favorite thing up there. Still sad that Fade got almost no screentime Char... what are you gonna do.

Emily seemed nice enough, but I kinda felt like she should have been gone awhile ago. When she said she was making another hoodie, I was like, REALLY, Emily??!! I didn't get her designs at all.
Ha, Korina made herself look even stupider in this episode. I loved Amanda's comment of, "Getting eliminated isn't any more painful for her. I know, I've been eliminated before!" Korina needs to get the fuck over herself. She thinks she is WAY more talented than she actually is.
I really, really felt like I was missing something with Sean's white outfit. It was one of those moments that made me think, "Okay, clearly I really must know nothing about fashion."
I loved Amanda's dress, I'd totally wear that. So cool. Kini's red dress was flawless, too.

Sean's white outfit was somewhere between interesting and stupid for me. Leaning more towards stupid, though. I did just about fall off my chair when Nina called it one of the best things she'd ever seen on the show. Reading T-Lo's commentariat reactions in real time was hilarious.

This was a very disappointing penultimate show. Every designer stepped into their own personal dodo pile. Sean with his pepto bismal fringe. Char with her boring as toast, "if I smear this random condiment on my cold dry toast, no one will notice it's boring" esthetic. Amanda's Boho chic. Emily and her hoodies. Even Kini decided (why Kini!) he had to work in denim....WHY!!!!!
I may have missed the imperative for this episode, but was it "Remember when we asked you during auditions to describe your esthetic in one word? Design your outfit based on that word."
Thus we get; hoodie, denim, boho, fringe, and toast with Vegemite.

I felt like Korina handled herself fairly well this episode. To go from competing to being an assistant in one day would be tough regardless of the circumstances. She clearly looked angry before she found out she'd be helping Char. I was glad that she just straight up said something rather than trying to sabotage her or flip out or talk shit.
TLo mentioned that a Tim safe means immunity for the rest of the season. It was true last season and this one. Man, I wish he'd saved Fade instead.

I'm starting to think the Tim Gunn Save (TM) would be a better wild card if he got to use it at the very end of the competition - as in, "you three are going to Fashion Week, and so is [random saved person]!" Because I agree with TLo that the contortions the show goes through to "justify" the save are pretty ridiculous. Maybe Char herself doesn't care, but I don't think it does her a favor to have people think she's a case of the emperor having no clothes, so to speak.
It's been pretty interesting to see who the TLo commenters think had the strongest FW collections, out of all the competitors and decoys. The three that seem to be most popular, albeit in a "not the worst" sense, have been <<Fade, Sandhya, and Korina.>>

I liked Emily's outfit and I've generally liked her stuff overall. I liked it much more than Amanda's maxidress. The judges really did seem opposed to Emily all season. I'm not sure why she was chosen if they're so opposed to her style.
Sean is hit-or-miss for me, though I tend generally like his stuff. That said, I didn't get the massive love for the white outfit. It was interesting, but not the end all be all that the judges were making it out to be.
Char got lucky. I liked her skirt, but I typically have a hard time remembering her stuff. I'm glad she didn't have to deal with Korina, though.
I love Kini's stuff the most. Of course, what the designers come up with for FW could be anything and I could end up hating Kini's collection and loving Char's. Who knows!

Amanda's maxidress was fine, but all the extra material ballooning out and tucking under at the sides was stupid. I would have liked it otherwise, because the top treatment of the dress was refreshing.
Char clearly should not be there, she is out of her weight range. I was worried when I saw her interest in the yellow dress in the window display, sickly yellows being what she seems to specialize in. Thankfully she went with the display rather than the dress color. But T-Lo got it right when they pointed out that both her outfits were just simple dresses with stuff thrown around the middle, which is what she has been making all season.
Did anyone else catch the shady look Sean threw at Char when she was talking at the meal table? She is Tim Gunn's favorite, maybe they all felt the same as Korina but just wouldn't say it out loud.
I think Emily's homeless hoodie look would have been acceptable had she styled the model more like a rich woman out for a stroll, rather than someone who just got up and rolled out into the street for a bagel.

I loved the hoodie, I didn't like the color or pattern of the rest of the outfit. It looked weird.
Char made a little black dress with some random fabric tied in the middle and she couldn't even make the little black dress right. That pocket on the other one was just tacky. Someone in the top 4 shouldn't have these kinds of taste and construction problems. Char should have gone home and stayed home; the save would have been put to better use on Emily.

I've really liked Kini this whole season, but I have to say this whole last episode felt like total manipulation. I doubt he was in on it at all, but I felt like they were really trying to create a "he pulled it out at the last minute" storyline since a "he was the clear front runner all along" is just too boring in their minds.
If he wins, I'm going to feel very manipulated. But I don't want to root against him either. Boo.
