I agree! After this episode I am thinking that I should invest in silky, diaphanous garments and the bras to go with them. Although... I didn't realize Joan had been divorced twice? What did I miss? Was there someone before dr rapist?
Glen and Betty were clunking along so robotically that it was embarrassing to watch.

Was there someone before dr rapist? It was first brought up when Joan's old friend who was going from Mary Kay to Avon came to town. Sometime in S6, I think? The marriage seemed to have happened back when Joan was still out in the Northwest, before her life in NY, maybe in college or after HS. They mentioned it being very brief.

How long has he been harboring a crush on Betty? Glen asked for a lock of Betty's hair in S1 which was 1960, and we're in 1970 now. I hope his friendship with Sally all this time wasn't just an excuse to reintroduce himself to Betty once he was old enough. Sooooo glad the story didn't go there with them actually sleeping together. Though gross, it wouldn't be completely out of character, and what better way to seem like Father of the Year than throwing your son a love scene with January Jones? Loved Joan's wardrobe this week, the colors and cuts were so flattering. I knew it was a long time, but I didn't remember it was from the 1st season. I also wondered if Glen stayed friends with Sally just so he could hit on Betty when he turned 18. Poor Sally..... It says something that Peggy was the only one who had any idea of what she wanted for the future. I was totally team Joan until she threw Kevin away for a man she just met! Don's an ass. I can't believe that ad guy used the same line that Don did. How stupid! He deserved to be fired.

I think Joan just said that to show Bruce Greenwood how ridiculous he was being about her having a kid. As soon as she said she chose him over her son, he was all, "Hey, hey, I never said to do that!" Matthis is Frasier's kid.

I watched the Betty/Glen scenes through my fingers. That was so awkward it was painful. It's really pretty amazing to watch someone who can't act, it makes you appreciate those who can so much more.

Ugh, Betty and Don really belong together. They are both attention whores who rely on their good looks to get them through life. Thank god Sally gets it. Run, Sally!
I was surprised to hear Joan had been divorced twice too, I didn't remember that at all.

As soon as she said she chose him over her son, he was all, "Hey, hey, I never said to do that!" I really only picked that up from Greenwood's reply--I think Christina Hendricks's delivery was a bit too kittenish. If he doesn't want to be in a relationship with a woman with a young child, there's nothing wrong with that, and he told her directly. I've always liked that Joan is deeply flawed (and not just emotional woe, specifically her prickly racism and mild internalized misogyny) so even if she isn't a good person, I'm satisfied with this outcome.

Glen. is. the. worst. I was so squirmy every time he was onscreen. (Although he's turned out to be a handsome kid.) Is he supposed to be wooden b/c he's so weird? I'm used to JJ's acting, but the two of them was almost too much to bear.

I really don't think it's intentional, I think it's just Nepotism Gone Wrong. According to IMDB, aside from one credit as "Nerd" in something else, he's only ever been in Mad Men episodes. He weird woodenness was okay when he was a creepo shorty, but it was pretty terrible last night, and I think it was probably just not worth recasting.
