Don's revenge on Roger Sterling this week was evil genius ;D. His ruthlessness and skills as a manipulator are really coming to the forefront now. I love it! Jon Hamm does smug and enigmatic very, very well.

Don is so scary and awesome. I'm a little worred about what he might have cooked up for Betty though. I love this show!

I sort of come in and out of this show. What's so bad about the wife giving a lock of her hair to a little boy?

Now I remember Don giving the elevator guy money... oh hoooooly shit, he's good. Note to self: Must watch show more closely in the future.

I sort of come in and out of this show. What's so bad about the wife giving a lock of her hair to a little boy? I think that in the past/"very" past, giving someone a lock of hair was almost a very intimate thing; a lock of hair is something to be given to/held on to by a lover, and so for Betty to give a young boy her lock of hair, even if maybe she thought it was an innocent thing, would be and be seen as highly innappropriate. Strawberrylover, I didn't catch Don's revenge plan right off the bat either, and then once it was over and it clicked in-- that was just wicked. And as slimy as Pete is, especially with that whole creepy fantasy he shared with Peggy, I can't help but feel for him-- maybe because he's just emasculated all over the place (work, home, etc). Slimy and creepy, but I pity him. Also, I really hope Peggy doesn't get her copy idea stolen, as even though it might be easy to see that coming, it'll be really interesting to see how she and her work are treated and perceived with the men and the office and with the women as well. Before, I was wondering if the show itself was going to hold my interest; the first episode I saw didn't have me convinced, but I thought that this past episode was just great, from start to finish. However, I still think I need to go back and watch it again, because even watching it closely, there are so many layers and nuances that need consideration and attention, and that's one of the things that I enjoy about the show.

That's a good explanation. Might tie into the whole thing about her being emotionally immature as well. I don't completely buy what the psychiatrist said about her though. I think it's a mix of boredom, immaturity caused by a lack of real life experience and genuine innocence. The show has defied my expectations at every turn so far, so I really doubt the writers will go the cliched route of Peggy getting her ideas stolen. I mean, it might fall under that danger, but I think Peggy is tougher than even she knows.

Yeah, I agree with that-- and the whole defying-expectations thing is partly why I hope the storyline doesn't become as simple as Peggy's ideas were stolen. I mean, not that it would be dealt with so simply, but... well, you know . And I agree with you on Peggy's toughness, you can tell she's not a weakling whether she's entirely aware or not.

It looks like next week is the last episode of the season. That can't be, can it? The show is barely getting started! Any idea when we'll find out if there's going to be a season two?

Do you remember much of that era, bstewart? Was it anything like what's depicted in the show? I grew up in that era with a similar lifestyle and I think parts of the show are dead on. My father dressed just like the guys in the agency and his office looked very much like theirs. The episode with the kids birthday party really hit home. All the drinking and stuff. The only thing that bugged was the guy hitting someone else's kid. That wasn't ok back then.
