I don't think there's anything wrong with letting her work. I think she needs to be busy, keep the money coming in for her kids' futures, and keep paying for what must be top notch medical care. She does seem fragile at public appearances, but she seems amazingly "normal" considering where she came from.
I've always suspected schizophrenia, and that is tricky as hell to treat. Meds stop working, new meds can zonk you out, and the drugs themselves can cause other problems and cut short the lifespan. I think she's doing amazingly well despite weird smiles and deer in the headlights looks. I'm sure they've all had the family talk about who takes care of her when dad cannot. That's another reason to bring in the money while you can - I doubt she will ever be alone and care is not cheap.

I'm sure Team Spears has a good financial advisor who could set up an investment portfolio to ensure that she and her sons would be taken care of even if she never works again.

I think you can be mentally ill and a spoiled brat. I still think she's a brat. But I feel sorry for her. Britney's also of average intelligence (or lower?), on top of whatever mental issues she has. Girl never had a chance.
I remember during her breakdown that there was a leak that a major newspaper had already written up her obituary and was ready to go to press with it in the event she died. Those were crazy days.
I also remember her show Chaotic. Oy that show. And TheJakes very spirited defense of her despite... everything.

I think you can be mentally ill and a spoiled brat. Yes, I was married to him. Topic: I'm glad she looks clean and is wearing shoes.

Poor thing. I'm picturing a sticker chart on the back of her closet door -- "wear underwear", "wear shoes," "brush hair." Good girl! You get a Starbucks!

I'd like to think Britney still has that kind of money (and hasn't yet frittered it away). Maybe people are having her do these projects so that she stays busy? So she won't get into trouble and do weird stuff if she's sitting idle (like poor Amanda Bynes)?

Oh yeah, I agree you can have mental illness and be a brat. But I don't remember Britney ever being a brat, though people called her that. During that time, she was driving to Starbucks looking strung out and struggling to physically walk through the doors of her children's custody hearing... and holding her kids hostage. That's strait-up mental illness, not brattiness. Most of her diva rumors were centered on her handlers' demands, not hers.

I've never been a fan of Britney's but I don't think you can say she's a brat. In the many years she's been famous, I haven't really heard a bad word about her. Her fans are completely moronic, IMO, but Britney herself seems harmless.
My sister suffers from mental illness and she constantly has to keep herself busy or...it just doesn't end well so I believe that Britney needs to constantly have something to do.

That's strait-up mental illness, not brattiness. Most of her diva rumors were centered on her handlers' demands, not hers. No, it was before that period. It was when she was throwing milkshakes at people with her sister and some other person or calling people fat fucks. There was the lackluster effort that she was making at concerts and other events, which I can understand now, but at the time, it seemed very bratty. For instance, she had the medical excuse of hurting her feet, but then she was seen wearing Uggs right after that all the time, and then her mom tried to make excuses that the doctor recommended that she wear Uggs. Or when celebrities were raising money for the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and I remember that all she donated was some old shoes. There were tons of other instances like that at the time that made me give her the side eye. Now I feel bad not that she can't be bratty and suffering from mental illness, but that was probably because she didn't really want to be pushed into doing what she was doing. At that time though, it just felt very bratty that she wanted all of the money and perks of fame, but didn't want to put any effort into it at all.
