Oh, her light load on imdb is definitely her doing. Even with a few flops the last couple years she's still a huge 'star' and if she wanted to, she could be working.
We'll see if this marriage sticks, but inviting Kris Jenner to your wedding seems like a harbinger of doom.

From this article:None of this sounds terrible but it sure sounds like a whirlwind kind of thing. And I'm not entirely sure that the lady who dated both Chris Martin and Darren Aronofsky really has the best taste in men. But maybe I'm just a mean old cynic and this is going to be the greatest love story in Hollywood :-)

Talent does not equal intelligence or maturity. Ladybug, this is one of my most favorite things said on this board ever! Thank you. This is the nature of celebrity and Hollywood - millions of dollars of myth making and image craft that goes into their careers to convince us they are very special people, and therefore better than the rest of us.

The inviting Kris Jenner was the one thing about the wedding that sort of endeared Jennifer to me. Jennifer did a bunch of seemingly PR things about her obsession with KUWTK and Kris Jenner a few years back, and it was kind of cool to see that they have an actual real friendship. In contrast, many of her co-stars that she's supposedly also good friends with (Bradley Cooper, all the Hunger Games folks) weren't there so those relationships either haven't been sustained or were all PR to begin with.

I think that Kris very much likes cozying up to people who are more 'traditionally'/'legitimately' famous (see, KimYe) and I suspect she has gone to a level of effort to get and maintain this friendship that Cooper et al wouldn't bother with.
Anyway there's no way this Cooke Maroney character doesn't suck and my highest hope for this marriage is that it proves to be a Learning Experience for her.

Am I missing something about Cooke Maroney? I know nothing about him other than him being an art dealer, so I was wondering if he’s a confirmed asshole and I just wasn’t aware.

I should have clarified--the only thing I know about him is his name and somehow that feels like enough.

During a podcast with Catt Sandler, Lawrence talked about her reasons for marrying Maroney. She said, “I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married.’ I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him.” She continued saying, “We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet and you’re like, ‘you can’t leave.’ So I wanted to take that offer.” This is the same reason people get married in Vegas after knowing each other for 3 days. It's called infatuation. Am I missing something about Cooke Maroney? I know nothing about him other than him being an art dealer, so I was wondering if he’s a confirmed asshole and I just wasn’t aware. I think he looks like one, but it's just an opinion.

He’s got a total frat boy look about him to me. Given that Jennifer’s maturity level has been questioned in the last they could be a great match..... but put me in for under 2 years.

I've got to ask about his name. Do you sound the 'e' so it's pronounced Cook-ie?
