The more I see it the more I really hate the Walgreens commercial about prescription drug coverage with the older lady getting a pedicure. She looks out the window and sees that right across the street there's a place giving pedis for just $10 while she's about to pay $20. So as soon as the person working on her turns she's up and out of there and heading across the street. It bothers me because she's already been given some services and looks to be at least partway done, but she leaves presumably without paying for it. It irks me. OMG, I get more annoyed every time I see it, too. It's like "Lady, she should call the cops on you." Why is that cute? All I see is a middle-aged woman breaking the law.

So for once Go Daddy isn't the winner of my Superbowl WTF?! commercial. That honor goes to Nationwide this year with the kid that goes on about all the stuff he didn't do (learn to ride a bike, get cooties aka kiss a girl, travel the world, etc.) because he died in an preventable accident.

What was up with the number of serious Super Bowl commercials this year? I like my commercials with a sense of humor! P.S. I still miss Bud Bowl. Greecies, would anyone like to test out what's proposed in this McDonald's commercial (pay with lovin')?

I read something a few days ago that this year's SB ads would focus on "sweet/sappy" as opposed to "sex." They should have stuck with sex.

I cracked up at the suggestion of making Debbie Downer the new Nationwide spokesperson! I don't mind Superbowl ads being sentimental. Some of my favorite Superbowl ads, such as Google's "Parisian Love" and Coke's "America the Beautiful" ads, have been sentimental. Nationwide's was just disturbing. Even worse it overshadowed Mindy Kaling's Nationwide ad which was charming!

Nationwide's ad was the ultimate buzz kill. Like wtf were they thinking. Let's depress the hell out of people while watching football. No thanks! I loved Budweiser. Made me tear up and pet my little sugar. Fiat's made me LOL. Kim's was as bland and meh as the woman herself. My mom asked me what it was about and I told her I didn't know. No...seriously? What was it about?

I actually liked Kim's ad. It was for T Mobile and unused data and how people need data to check out her selfies. Showed the slightest bit of self awareness on her part. If she was to be a part of a Super Bowl ad, that was a good fit.
The Nationwide commercial was....I just don't know why they did that. Especially paired with the funny Mindy Kaling one. You'd think there would be a common thread. They had such different messages. If you're going to put it out there about children dying from preventable accidents, then push that across all channels.
The Katie Couric/Bryant Gumbel one - I really did like the look back at the Today Show when they were talking about "What is the internet?" Shows how much things have changed. I really don't know what that ad was for though. Or the Jeff Bridges one. What was that for?
