Just briefly going back to Mycroft and Mary. By all accounts Mycroft is sharper than Sherlock. Nothing escapes his notice. If he could only find info on Mary dating back 5 years (and I would strongly assume that he has files on everyone connected to his little brother), I'm sure it would be a major red flag that something was up. I'm also assuming Mycroft knows all the best assassins. So this part of the season still has some holes to fill. I could get behind Janine as a sister. I know the producers are fond of the actress. I hope season 4 focuses more on John and Sherlock and their cases, and not some convoluted set up w/ the Moriarty family. Edited to add: More and more theories are coming out that Mary is Moriarty's right hand (wo)man. Someone on Tumblr went to great lengths to describe the connection. Essentially the theory goes: Mary broke off from the CIA and started working for Moriarty, which is why John would despise her. Sherlock knows that she tried to kill him and she's not sorry, but he's placating her as he tries to figure out what to do next. I'd like this better than Janine as mastermind. Wow, if that theory is right it would make Series Four the most exciting and complicated (Considering Mary's condition) yet.

Great theory, I hope it proves correct.

Late to the party here, I just watched ep. 1 of season 3. Am really enjoying the show's sense of reality vs. fantasy, the playfullness mixed with that magnificent BBC acting -- it reminds me of Monty Python a bit, that willingness to experiment and go out there, to keep things moving constantly visually and emotionally. Unlike American dramas, there's never any slack. It's also very clear the show is not a brainchild of committee, it has a very specific, personal vision behind it.
I do get why they presented different versions of how Sherlock's "suicide" was done without settling on any of them... BUT, what was all about the version with the cardboard cut-out of Holmes on the edge of the building, while he was giggling with Moriarty by the chimney, and then they necked? Was that a fan theory?

Yes, that was a fan theory, akin to the fan-fiction running rampant online. So far I'm loving the new season. I like that Sherlock & Mary get along rather than her being a wedge between the men.

From "The Sign of Three": Wasn't Bainbridge also a Harry Potter actor? He looks very familiar. (Over on Community we just learned Magnitude is a Brit actor who played Lee Jordan in the movies.)

Yes Bainbridge was a Harry Potter actor(who is now hot). Btw my mind is blown about the Lee Jordan reveal in the Donald Glover send-off. Pop!Pop! will never be the same. Topic: I really like the actress that plays Janine, I would like her to be in Series 4. Also more Lestrade. Rupert Graves is fiiiiiiiiiiiine.

Bainbridge was Dean in the HP movies. I was shocked when he first appeared. I am still stunned that Magnitude is Lee Jordan. Still can't get over it.

I watched all 3 seasons in the last 3 weekends with the help of Netflix and the BBC website (Season 3 is up there for those who haven't caught it all).
Now I am in the sad camp with the rest of you waiting for the next season.
