I was looking at Andrew Scott's IMDB and saw he also played Paul McCartney in a BBC production (!)
I agree, enough of the faked deaths, and Sherlock or Watson pulling out a gun and just shooting people. I was disappointed that the blackmailer was just shot instead of tricked or manipulated into his own downfall. That ending was just poor writing.

I hope the end of S3 has real consequences for Sherlock in S4. Otherwise, how was M. different from Moriarty, and he never thought about just shooting him, right? He seemed like an even more legit Moriarty BUT he was threatening John in a way that couldn't be resolved with a trick or slight of hand. It had to be taken from his head, and it was, in a matter of speaking.

Greecies- Sherlock is coming back Christmas 2015 (at least in England).
May the Christmas special and season 4 be better than season 3!

I really hope that the show gets back to the cases. I was very disappointed in Season 3. The entire series pandered to the Internet fandom at the expense of what made the show popular in the first place.

I started watching "Fleming: the Man Who Would be Bond" on Netflix and was puzzled by where I'd seen the female lead before. I looked her up on IMDb and discovered she's Lara Pulver who played Irene Adler in "Sherlock". The curious tidbit is that IMDb also lists her for episode 4.1 of the forthcoming season of "Sherlock". Probably just appears in a flashback but she's on the cast roster.

More Irene? Well, that should make for an interesting premiere ep. It's been so long since I watched the series three finale I'd forgotten how it ended. The funny thing is I thought that was by far the best episode of the lot. I think Illl wait until Sherlock airs here in the states to watch. I probably won't remain unspoiled, but I just don't feel the same immediacy of seeing it. All the gaps in filming have made me A LOT less rabid ( and also the quality of series three left a lot to be desired IMHO).

Is anyone in the UK? It's just finished airing. I loved it.
