Laverne's dress would've been lovely -- if it fit.
I am officially furious at this too-large bodice trend!

Laverne's dress does need a better fit. But I like her hair. I really like Taystee's dress and it is more proof that it is possible to dress a gal with curves. Unfortunately, Black Cindy's dress looks like something I wore to the homecoming dance sophomore year.
I almost didn't recognize the actresses who play the methheads without their "faces of meth" makeup.

I'm sorry I don't have a link for this. But apparently Laverne Cox has filmed a pilot for a new series in which she would be the lead. She would be a high powered attorney fighting for justice or some such (I was listening to this news at work with the speakers turned down low and so wasn't able to pick up every word) But anyway, good for her. But possibly BAD for OITNB. What, oh what will become of Sophia if this pilot gets picked up?!?! I hope they can at least wrap up Sophia's story line in a satisfying way if this pilot does get picked up. (Early release for good behavior, maybe?)

Sophia was barely in season 2, which was not good. I hope Laverne's new show is great and is a hit.

I hope if her pilot gets picked up, she can still appear on OITNB. With such a large cast, it seems the time commitment wouldn't be that huge.
I'm pretty sure they are currently filming season three or are done with it, so this probably wouldn't affect this coming season.
I did notice that LC didn't get picked up as a series regular like many other cast members, but maybe she wanted to keep her options open.

Meanwhile, in less classy news, Dascha Polanco is thinking about suing an animal shelter that claims she dropped off two grown cats in a box and pulled the "do you know who I am?" stunt when they asked for paperwork before taking them back. LinkShe also posted a pic of new kittens she got a few weeks ago. People were joking that she exchanged cats for kittens. She is claiming that she was returning her ex-bfs cats, but the timeline doesn't work with that story (unless she met up with her ex recently and agreed to return his cats? In a box?). There has been a lot of backlash from fans, so she has been quoting Maya Angelou on social media, of course. Also, suing a no-kill cat shelter? Yikes. That would not be a good move, lady.

Yeah, the whole thing sounds really weird and messed up. I know nothing about her, and I also know animal people can teeter into crazy, so I don't even have an instinct to follow.

But keep in mind that animal shelter deal with a lot of crazy shit and personalities...

Oh, I definitely know--I'm just mildly skeptical about this particular story since it seemed to have happened a while ago. Not that that doesn't make it true, it just makes me wonder about the truth of some of the information. I'm mostly thinking of the internet armies of animal people who think taking an animal to a rescue group is exactly the same thing as...well, all sorts of other terrible fates that can befall cats and dogs.
Topic? I'm looking forward to season 3, especially since I heard Jason Biggs might not be around. Yesss.
