I think he was born to play this part.
I don't remember her from P&P, and I haven't seen any of her other movies, so I don't have much of an opinion. I'm excited for the movie though. She looks a lot like I imagined her.

I think she's absolutely stunning and I loved her in the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice, which, incidentally, I love and adore beyond reason and certainly beyond its merits. Oh me too. I actually like it more than the Colin Firth version (Shhh! Don't tell anyone!) I thought she was the perfect Jane in that film - very pretty, yet pretty bland (yet I could see why she and Elizabeth were so close). I also wonder what went down between her and Joe Wright because he pulled the plug pretty quickly and permanently. I don't know if he's a hothead or if there is more to it.

She's in a fantastic, very dark 'family' comedy called 'What We Did On Our Holiday' (dreadful title, admittedly) with David Tennant which is out in September. I admire that she's still willing to do little British indie films - she turned down some big Hollywood thing (some comic book or superhero movie, I think?) in order to do it.

Not sure what to make of her awards buzz since I feel that people have been predicting her ever since she was cast. This seems to be more about the role than her. Also, it's Fincher so naturally, there's Oscar buzz.
If Reese and Ryan were still together, they'd be pretty perfect as the two leads. I hope Ben won't be too sleepy, I hated his performances in The Town and Argo. Maybe another director than himself can get a less sleepwalk-y performance out of him.

It's a shame Reese (a producer on the film) didn't put herself in Gone Girl and cast her ex -- that would probably have put a lot of butts in seats.

It's so odd that Reese would produce a movie where she's fairly suited for the lead role, yet not star in it. She's making other films, so it's not like she wanted to take a break from acting. Maybe it was a bit too close to home or she didn't want to deal with Fincher doing fifty takes per scene.
Rosamund's first child is named Solo, so it will be interesting to see what she comes up with for Baby #2. She announced it in June, so she's probably due before the end of the year.

Reese really would have been perfect but maybe she wanted to focus on Wild? I am excited for the movie and I hope Pike does well, but I am a little apprehensive about her ability to pull off the more brutal aspects of the character (trying not to be spoilery!). I suspect Affleck will be perfectly cast, though, that one released still of him posing with Pike's picture...the little awkward-creepy smile on his face is exactly what I imagined when I read it.

I suspect that the reason I don't remember her is because while I loooooove Keira Knightley, I was preoccupied by how much Darcy wasn't Colin Firth. I just got over a serious Firth binge.

I liked her in The World's End. She was good with comedy.
I'm looking forward to Gone Girl but I don't see her as a serious Oscar contender. She will definitely get some notice for this film though.
Now for the superficial: she has a weird hairline.
