I just don’t know how we are going to deprogram such a large segment off the population.
Also, Lindsey Graham is drunk.

Hell has frozen over - I agree with Lindsey Graham. One person doesn’t get to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands voters. Joe Biden is the legitimate President.

Six senators still voted to object to Arizona’s electors, meaning only half of the original Senators who planned to object changed their minds.

Where has Lindsay Graham been for the last four years? Up Trump’s butt on the golf course. He doesn’t get to act like some savior of democracy now. This was him jumping ship after the Titanic hit the iceberg. I have nothing for these enablers trying to save the tiny shreds of credibility they have left.

Six senators still voted to object to Arizona’s electors, meaning only half of the original Senators who planned to object changed their minds. A CNN reporter just said that he thought that there were 14 original objectors. But regardless, with respect to the 6-8 who changed their minds and withdrew their objections (and I think someone said something to this effect in the last thread), why did it take a threat to their own personal physical safety for them to do the right thing? How morally bankrupt are these people that they will gladly let the country burn up until the last second before they can no longer capitalize on it? Like why does Lindsay Graham make a speech tonight saying one man cannot disenfranchise 70 million when he has been playing footsie with election conspiracies for weeks on Fox News and elsewhere? I hate them all. I don’t usually seek out such things, but after reading here and wanting to understand what happened, I did seek out the video of the military vet who was shot and killed today, and I first came across video of rioters outside the Capitol right after the shooting happened: they were white men filled with impotent rage, and like was mentioned upthread, I can’t imagine how you go about deprogramming such insanity.

Yeah, huge pat on the back to all of these Trump staffers who are "thinking about" resigning 13 days before they'd be out anyway. What a bunch of heroes.

Yeah, and Lindsay Graham tried to get the GA SOS to throw out the results, which is why they taped the call with Trump.
I swear my knitting circle could have protected the Capitol better. Our state Capitol is more secure. And I’ve been to the US Capitol many, many times and on a normal day there is crowd control and strict security protocols. This was not a normal day.
I was listening to Preet Bahara and Anne Milgram and it hadn’t really occurred to me until they mentioned it, but Kamala Harris, as the senator from CA, was in danger. An entire branch of the US government (legislative) and leadership—the sitting US VP and the VP -Elect—of another branch of government (executive)—were under siege today.
I heard Leon Panetta interviewed on NPR and he said this was the worst day in his nearly 50 years of public service. That really struck me. Worse than the Challenger disaster? Worse than the Beirut barracks bombing? Worse than Sandy Hook? Worse than 9/11? I don’t know if he was in an administration for all or any of these events, but he was Secretary of Defense, Director of the CIA, and White House Chief of Staff, so I assume he’s had some pretty bad days.
