I get this. When I was in college, over 30 years ago (I went to a college near a very famous military school, I'll leave it at that) a girl was gang raped by several of the guys there. SHE was the one who had to leave school, and I believe she became pregnant from the rape. What I remember was that nothing happened to the guys who raped her, she was the one who was shamed (she'd been drinking with them, it was at night...whatever) and she was the one who had to leave school.
What this has to do with Cosby is that he probably thought it was okay to do what he was doing, because everybody else was doing the same thing. I mean if guys from this school could gang rape a girl and get away with it...he probably doesn't even think what he did was wrong.
In fact, I think the only reason this is coming out is because of all the things he said about young, black men. Though a lot of why he said is true (IMO), he's not the one who should talk about anybody else's morals. I mean you don't hear Tiger Woods or Derek Jeter talking about how young men cat around.

I wish I could upvote this to infinity. Yet, I bet deep down Cosby doesn't give a crap, nor does he regret his actions. He just regrets that all these people are blowing up his spot.

She never elaborates on who these people are (or did I miss something).
If there wasn't such a clear history of the mainstream media protecting Bill Cosby's reputation for decades in addition to plenty of evidence that Bill Cosby successfully bullied media outlets into protecting him I'd more inclined to maybe (but probably not) believe this story. But with the way things have played out, I don't believe it at all.

Oh man, an anonymous model claims two anonymous men (an Asian and a Caucasian) approach her to discredit Bill Cosby because he is a powerful Black man. And the Fox crowd will eat it up with a spoon.

Now Cosby is the victim.
"White people" "looked the other way"? They wanted to feel like racism was no longer an issue.
"White people" are now angry with him? We don't want him to set a good example.
Which is it? I'm growing weary of the racial posturing from all sides. The only consistent is that Bill Cosby, a man in a position of power, used his status to force himself on women. This might be the first time in his life where race ISN'T the biggest issue in the room.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person on the face of the earth who doesn't want to totally condemn NOR praise to the heavens, Bill Cosby's remarks about personal responsibility in the African American community. Why? Because there is truth to both arguments. Why do messages about personal responsibility AND still existing racism have to be mutually exclusive? But hardcore right-wingers and lefties are constantly telling us that we must pick a side. Bad choices and self-destructive behavior in the black community is something that people in those communities can control. But there are black people who do everything right who STILL face all kinds of racial descrimination in 2014. Why is that so hard for people to understand? As to Cosby, I don't expect truth-tellers to be perfect people. But being a serial rapist cancels all moral authority one pretends to have.

There is no hierarchy of oppressions. Or as W. Kamau Bell said, "you can't solve racism with sexism."

I'm shocked! Cosby Resigns from Temple University BoardI know the media has really been cracking down on all this "alleged" claims, but if he's truly innocent, why would he settle out of court? Why would he resign this beloved position? I'm not in his mind, but I would be fighting tooth and nail if the allegations weren't true.

It appears that drugging women may be his "thing" even if it isn't necessary to get the sex - someone over on Salon.com wrote about a friend of hers who was in a consensual sexual relationship with Cosby in the late 70s/early 80s, and called her one day, shocked and confused because Cosby had drugged her the night before (he gave her pills he told her would help her relax, she trusted him so she took them, only to discover that "relaxed" meant "unconscious") and when she woke up she could tell that he had sex with her. Her friend didn't consider it rape since they were having an affair, but was confused as to why he drugged her (in her friend's words, "it's not like I would have said no to anything").
