See, I'm guessing a relapse.
When his post-rehab self was on Leno over Christmas, he was making me uncomfortable with all the sobriety jokes and complaints - I remember thinking he was gonna relapse in no time.
I'm pretty sure he was the answer to a blind item about a star who stumbled back into drugs when his movie was filming right around skid row - License to Wed was filmed right on and around there.
Given the amount of cocaine he consumed, the heart problems aren't surprising.

My dad had the same surgery five years ago and is doing great (*knock on wood*). Who knows if the problem is related to drug use? It may well not be, although it wouldn't shock me all that much if it is. My dad needed the replacement because of a heart defect that meant the valve didn't work properly. It was a defect he'd had since birth, but it never made him sick enough for anyone to notice until he was almost 60.
If it is a relapse, why wouldn't he just say so? Why make up "heart trouble," especially if that's what killed his brother (it just seems to morbid to me)? He's been candid in the past about rehab. I hope that's not the case. I find him really, really obnoxious in his stand-up, but I like him as an actor. What can I say? I have a soft spot for him.

Didn't his father die at a fairly young age also? I can only remember seeing his mom with him at some of the award shows and on Oprah's show.

According to Wikipedia, his father was 81 when he died in 1987. Apparently he was well into his 40s when Robin was born.

Thank you for posting that. I love the guy, just can't help it. My favorite role of his (and one of my favorite movies) is The Fisher King. And that interview is interesting. He sounds very sad and kind of aloof almost, which is not how he usually comes across.
