I've never really been a fan of Coldplay, or Chris Martin for that matter, but I saw this on Youtube and it made me laugh. I think this interview of him is rather funny as well. ... at the very least, it shows he has a sense of humor.

You know, I have not been a fan of Coldplay's more recent stuff, but I did love their first two albums. U2 has been around a lot longer to prove themselves. It's possible that Coldplay could eventually be there.
However, I think I'm one of 5 people in the entire world that thinks that U2 is completely overrated and I just don't get all the hype.

Thanks for the links, niddlemiddle! "Can we get on with this? Tonight Gwyneth's makin' drumsticks!" HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm surprised he mentioned her name! He so rarely does that!
Hobbes, I agree that X&Y's not as great as Rush of Blood to the Head or Parachutes...but I'm still looking forward to their next album (whenever that comes out - I know they're planning to take their time on it.)...

I love the music, and I love him. I completely ignore his wife, and focus on the cute children he's adopted. Favorite songs: Warning Sign, Shiver, Fix You, Clocks, Amsterdam, and Everything's Not Lost. The latter is excellent to listen to if I feel like the entire world has gone to hell. It lifts me up! So I'm a super fan. Coldplay 4-EVAH.

I agree...yay! When I first heard "Fix You", I rolled my eyes for some reason, but then, it started sinking under my skin and I felt so comforted by it, and now I love it! I find their music does that - it grows on me until I can't live without it! I'll always love "Yellow", no matter about the haters of it out there!

There's another funny interview of Chris Martin by Ricky Gervais. If you type in Ricky Gervais Chris Martin in youtube, it's the first vid that appears. "Now Gwyneth is obviously a Welsh lass and you've never bothered to learn the language. How do you communicate?" "Through our lawyers." I don't know anything about Chris Martin but I came across this when looking up Ricky Gervais clips and he seems pretty funny to me.

God, when I clicked on celebrities and saw a new Fug Martin thread and Fishstick's thread on the fist page I thought for a second that they probably announced a divorce. But I think these two will stay together. Maybe not happily but that suits them. He doesn't seem to be the type of man to leave a woman (who agrees to have sex with him) so if they ever separate it'll be coming from her. But they seem perfect for each other. He puts up with Gwynett freaking Fishstick, that means something's clearly wrong with him. Can't stand his voice. I think I would like some of Coldplay's songs but his voice grates. Also, with every song now being about HRH how can anyone take them seriously?

Chris is hilarious, he's always been that way. I've loved him and the rest of the Coldplay guys since around 2000 and I just cannot express the happiness and proudness (that a word? hah!) over their success. Love 'em to bits! Yes, he still does that. Though they're done touring, but he did right up until the end. And he says he always will promote it one way or another. Chris has said in interviews that in his British upbringing flaunting and showing or bragging about what one has or how much money, how famous one is, is not done and is seen as.. classless or looked down upon. In other interviews, he's said that walking down red carpets here in the states has become popularity show. Based on who one is wearing and it's all a shallow contest, not the way he was brought up and it's not the image he wants to attach to Coldplay because he is the face of the band, and his actions affect the rest of the boys and that's not what they care about. Him not wanting to attend the Golden Globes or other has nothing to do with Gwyneth, it's more to do with his upbringing and the image that will reflect on the band if he attends every single one of these events. Sorry for rambling.

Thanks for that, tis me Tania. I've always noticed that Gwynnie is alone when doing some kind of movie promotion/fragrance reveal/celeb awards show, and wondered what was up with that. She doesn't seem upset or bothered too much about it, and that might mean she actually loves CM, rather than being married to him because he's a rockstah or whatever. I like her .2% more now. I suppose she accepts his view on celebrity posing, and has adapted to it. It beats having to bear watching people who don't really want to be there, and are clearly uncomfortable with all the excessive attention.
I respect CM for not letting fame get to his head. Now come out with a new album soon!
