My favorite part was this:
That makes things not explode! Doesn't Joel understand the laws of physics?

He's one of the last celebs I would expect to use Twitter. What's next? Angelina Jolie on Vine? Russell's mortal enemy George Clooney has said it's a terrible idea for celebrities to be on twitter because it's way too easy to use twitter to vent in a moment of temper. Case in point.

My first thought upon hearing this was: Russell Crowe is flying discount airlines nowadays? Ha. Also the Joel who was giving him shit is Joel Creasey an Australian comedian.

Yeah, Joel. Don't you know it's a Crowe family tradition to start off holidays and special events with dad getting angry about something stupid and spending the rest of what should be a fun time seething and muttering under his breath so he could avoid the family he claims to love so dearly? Asshole Dad 101, Joel. Take the class and learn something!

Okay, dad. Maybe use this teachable moment to demonstrate how to handle disappointment and safety boundaries in a grownup manner. I don't think "expect to be the exception to the rule" or "take to social media to rant" is part of that recipe.

I actually think he's doing better; he didn't punch out anybody.

I'm bumping his thread up because I just saw a trailer for a new movie he's starring in. It looks like trash. Russell Crowe looks AWFUL and I can say that because I'm older than him. He looks bloated, unhealthy and smelly. It makes me weep when I remember how gorgeous he looked in Gladiator (did that movie come out 20 years ago? OMG!)
The movie looks bad, like what someone makes when their career is on the downswing. But who knows, it could be a masterpiece!

The movie looks bad, like what someone makes when their career is on the downswing. But who knows, it could be a masterpiece! Was it the one where he has road rage? Because I happen to see the trailer for it about a month ago or so, and I couldn't believe how far he's fallen either both in fame and in looks. I'm sure there have been faster falls, but crazy to think that he went from starring in three films in a row nominated for Best Picture and being the big thing in Hollywood, then losing what seemed like a sure Oscar win after the BAFTA incident after he had won all the other major televised awards that year. Then he still had success with Master and Commander and Cinderella Man, although he probably missed a few Oscar nominations, but then it's pretty much been downhill. What should have been big event movies with him starring alongside some of the other best actors in Hollywood fizzled out for the most part, and even when he got something like Les Miserables, there was so much ridicule over his singing at the time. He's still had some bright spots like The Nice Guys doing well critically albeit not commercially, Boy Erased also doing well critically too, and even getting an Emmy nomination just recently, but 23 years ago or so when I was in the first stages of my crush, I would have never guessed that his career would have turned out like it did, lol.
