I can't hate on the girl. There are other, much more annoying public figures out there. I just want her to either go on to college when her 15 minutes are up or maybe move to Branson. She's harmless.

I agree, besides her song See You Again is my biggest guilty pleasure right now.

I think she dresses way too old. When I first saw a picture I didn't know who she was. I thought she was some random 25-year-old wannabe starlet. When I was her age (14? 15?) Mom would have made me remove all that gunk and wear more age appropriate clothes. Why do teenagers want to grow up so fast?

What annoys me is Miley's tendency to say that she is best friends with just about everyone. Somebody on ONTD (I know, I know) also recalled an interview where Miley was going on about how Daniel Radcliffe had a crush on her. A reporter asked Daniel about it later, and he went, "Um, who?" I thought that was awesome.

Yeah, that runs in their family. Miley said that her dad likes to invite everyone over to their house, in response to the rumors that the Cyrus family invited Britney Spears over for Thanksgiving.

I know that Disney like to clump all their stars together whenever possible, but I always find it strange when Miley hangs out with people so much older than her, like Ashley Tisdale. Go, DanRad. Disney would have a heart attack of pleasure if they started going out.

I don't have a problem with Miley Cyrus and really I don't get why anyone over the age of 15 would. She's pretty much non-existent in the world of people who don't have children. I only see her when I go looking.

She's becoming so overexposed, at least to the preteen set. She's just *everywhere* right now, and I don't see how that can be good for her. I dunno, I'm just starting to feel that this might all end in a bad place. She's still so young.

I completely agree.

Maybe not soon, especially if she stays tied to Hannah Montana, but the minute she gets a role in a film that is a hit, we are going to hear abut her coming out of clubs at 4am. No one could possibly be as perfect as she is made out to be

Which leads to stupid crap like this. One of the gossip magazines has a cover feature this week on "Eeeeek! Stars without make-up!!!" And Miley is one of those shown. She's 15! There are plenty of teenage girls who don't walk around with a mask of makeup on all the time. And plenty of adult women, too.

I don't mind that Miley dresses too old for her age. I'd much rather that than see her in skimpy clothes, flashing the paparazzi. This is the same reason that I can't totally hate Avril Lavigne, even though by all accounts she is a moron-I'm so sick of young female stars showing off so much skin that I have respect for those who does not (even if it means she wears giant cargo pants and a tie instead, or looks a bit mumsy).

I actually think Miley looked really pretty at the Oscars.

I think Avril Lavigne has taken steps towards changing her image. I could have sworn I saw her on the cover of some magazine not wearing much of anything. I don't follow her regularly to know whether she incorporates this in her daily life but for all her admonishing of other pop starlets for selling their bodies she doesn't seem much different.

I can't tell if Miley dresses too old. It seems like everyone dresses the same these days. Younger people dress older but older people are dressing younger so it seems that everyone is blending into each other.


Edited to ask:

Is she that famous? I know who she is because of the internet but it doesn't seem like she has the fame that Britney Spears did (though Spears was older when she hit it big), in the sense that even adults knew who Britney was and even college kids would be secretly listening to her stuff when no one was looking.

I was shocked to see Miley at the Oscars though.
