I've always had a soft spot for Christina. Instead of doing typical teen movies like her peers she was doing more serious films like Pumpkin and the Opposite of Sex. Her weight seems to have fluctuated over the years but I see she's sticking with the lollypop look, which is a shame because she looked just fine before.
And yeah, that bird tattoo is pretty hideous and I'm a fan of body art in general.

I'll always adore her for Wednesday Adams. And for her role in Mermaids. Love that movie. Everyone should see it.
(Still don't like the fake bake/blonde though)

I'll always adore her for Wednesday Adams. And for her role in Mermaids. Love that movie. Everyone should see it. (Still don't like the fake bake/blonde though) I completely agree, she's awesome as Wednesday and that's where I started to like her. And she was adorable in Mermaids... Not a fan of the new tattoo though.. |

I liked Mermaids too. Plus it had Jake Ryan! I always wondered if it was weird for her to play love interest to Johnny Depp because she first met him as a young girl when she played Winona's sister in that film.

It just amazes me how different she looks in recent years. When she was plump and dark-haired, she and I could have passed for twins. I would hear multiple times every day, "Has anyone ever told you . . . ?" (Me: "I look like Christina Ricci? YES. FOURTEEN TIMES TODAY.") I was actually asked for her autograph a couple of times. I remember when she was on the cover of some magazine, I walked into a 7-11 and caught it out of the corner of my eye and almost fell over, for a moment I thought it was me.
Now, not so much. Not at all, actually. No one has even mentioned a passing resemblance in a couple of years. It's not that she looks bad, just so different. And on a selfish note, it was really good for my self-esteem that this weird-looking curvy girl had a lot of male fans who went on about how cute she was. Then she went all skinny and tan and blonde. Boo.

Both maybe? She's admitted to battling body image problems and anorexia in the past so that's the most likely problem I'd say. Sorry, what am I saying? She's just ultra thin because she: a) has cut out carbs/meat/sugar/dairy and now she has so much more energy b) she's naturally skinny - an Irish metabolism perhaps? c) she forgets to eat d) the pounds just melt off when she chases a baby around (don't know whose baby though) e) she just walks her dogs everywhere and that keeps her svelte [/anorexic Hollywood party line]  |
