I am now watching this supercalafragilisticspaloadocious move on DVD! This is the viewing experience of a lifetime, people! The cheap sets! The amateurish special effects! The sight of a chiropractor standing in for Bela Lugosi! ;D
Who else has seen this flick?

Who hasn't? It's a cinematic classic. I much prefer Glen or Glenda. It has a lot more angora and I likes my angora.

I had planned to give my boyfriend Plan 9 From Outer Space along with Tim Burton's Ed Wood, but I couldn't find Ed Wood anywhere!
When we watched Plan 9 together, I have to admit I was a little obnoxious. I was all, "Did you see that? It just went from night to day and back again in the same scene!" "Look! Look! You can totally tell that's not Bela Lugosi! See? See?" "Did you see the gravestone wobble? Because it's obviously made of cardboard? Did you see that?"
I have to ask myself... Who was I really buying the movie for...?

"Your stupid minds! Stupid! STUPID!!"
Ah, this makes me happy. Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but definitely up there. At least the film stock was nice.

In spite of it's reputation as a "bad" movie as defined by the Medved Brothers back in the mists of time (the 80's), I find Plan 9 to be really entertaining, certainly more so than a lot of the crappy "filler" movies coming out today. Plus, where else can you see Vampira? As far as I know, there aren't any copies or kinescopes of her old TV show, so this is really your only chance to see her anywhere. Gotta love Tor Johnson, too!

I finally saw it a few years ago and found that it wasn't nearly as bad as Ed Wood and the Medveds had made it out to be. I expected carboard tombstones and "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" so they didn't bother me, and from what I remember the plot wasn't too far from standard '50s science fiction. I don't know why Plan 9 gets the hatred it does when bigger-budget flops are just allowed to fade from memory. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, people.

And it has the best line in movie history:
"Visits? That would indicate visitors!"

And one of my favorite scenes is old Bela walking around his yard dressed up as the Old West Doctor/Vampire and then going off screen, the screen pausing visibly, and the screech of car tires. And whenever I see this, I think "GRANDPA, NOO!!"
Oh, I'm going to hell.

Coolllll!!!!!!!! ;D I can't believe there's a thread on this movie! I haven't seen this since I was a teenager, but this is the classic classic of cheesy cult flicks. The flying saucers made of burning paper plates! Ed - how cheap can you get? Lugosi kicks the bucket part way thru and we carry on regardless! Just have the "new guy" flit around town covering his face with his cape! Excellent!
