Hello all! I was a long time lurker at the Other Place. I was always worried about doing something wrong over there and never had the guts to start a thread for one of the weirdest, funniest, grossest and, unfortunately, dead on accurate movies I've ever seen: Spun.

So, anyone else seen this movie about meth freaks? It seems to be one of those movies that people either love or hate. I'll admit whole-heartedly that it can be a bit "much" and seems very far-fetched. And maybe it's just me--but as crazy as it all was, I found it to closely resemble the lives of those that get all caught up in the speed world.

I definitely count it as one of my favorites and most of the movie could be talked about in the "I know I shouldn't laugh, but...." thread.

Ugh! I love/hate this movie. The scene where we see Mena Suvari poop, and we actually see the tiny little meth turd go into the toilet? It does seem like a regular day in the life of Brittney Murphy though. And the editing/jerky camerawork definitely does a good job of representing what I imagine it would be like on meth. That's just an assumption on my part, I swear.

I too have a love/hate realtionship with this movie. Its certainly interesting. But it goes overboard a few times - the poop scene, the cartoon sex scene (WTF?). The grossest thing to me though was how the main guy kept that girl tied to his bed, and would come home and "play" with her for a while, then go back out to run his errands with Brittany.
