Just saw this on ONTD:I'm not familiar with McCrory, but HBC was who I originally pictured for Bella.

I can't stand HBC, but she is a pretty good choice for Bellatrix. Shame they wont be able to use her for Merope in HBP, though.

Ugh. I am NOT looking forward to seeing Grawp. Blech.
When I saw PoA, I had not yet read any of the books, but I understood the patronus/"Christmas decoration" (also: Hee!). However, there were some things in the first two movies that I didn't quite "get" until I read the books. Goes to show you, everyone's different.

Helena Bonham Carter is too old for Merope, I think. Isn't Merope supposed to be in her late teens/early 20's? I think HBC's going to be awesome as Bellatrix.

Right then, this time it's definite- this is the boy who will be playing young Sirius Black. His name is James Walters. Here's the kid playing young Snape. I think it's great Helena Bonham Carter's playing Bellatrix. I pictured Bellatrix as tall and gaunt, but I think HBC has proven she can pull off completely insane very well.

To the casual viewer, the Grawp/Hermione stuff will seem very reminiscent of Kong/Ann with Harry as the Jack Driscoll character. Kloves didn't write this script but there's only so much you can do with the "giant creature scoops up girl while hero fights to save her" template. Maybe they'll throw Ron into the mix, so he'll be the one looking very scared for her like a proper future love interest.
Are Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh supposed to be in OotP? With HBC joining the cast, that might make for a few scheduling headaches unless they're all Bruce/Demi/Ashton and amicable about it.

I haven't read the books in a while, but I don't think Trelawney, Lockhart or Bella would have any scenes together. IIRC, Trelawney would only be at Hogwarts, Lockhart at St. Mungo's, and Bella at the Ministry (and possibly a few other places). So it's probably a non-issue.

That's true, but I was thinking more of things like costume fittings, rehearsals, publicity shoots, etc., that might be happening in different areas of the studio at the same time, and the premiere. They've had to have seen each other at one time or another in ten years so I'm sure they will be fine. It's just interesting if all three are in OotP when some have speculated that the Branagh/Thompson divorce is referenced in the book (the story begins in 1995 and there is a mention of Aunt Petunia devouring gossip about a famous couple's high profile divorce).

Thompson and Branagh were married (and had awesome chemistry, see Much Ado About Nothing, my alltime favorite movie). Anyway, I believe Branagh had an affair with HBC and the marriage ended.
