Big Orlando fan here, so its with great sadness I must say that 'he sucketh the life out of this film'. The supporting cast are fabulous, the story is interesting, the direction is great, its beautifully shot, but its lacking a leading man with the presence to carry such a big film.

My friend and I saw this last Thursday, which was a great day to see any other movie besides Revenge of the Sith - we were two of only four people in the theater. And even though I am a fan of the Bloom, I'd have to say I agree with TamaraDixon to an extent. He certainly did drain each and every scene with his extremely overenunciated "acting voice," but my friend and I were pleased to note that when he tries real hard, he does in fact have more than one facial expression. We counted three.
Overall, I liked the film, but I just wished Orlando could have relaxed into the role a little more. He seemed stilted and uptight compared to the other actors.

This film is God awful. Way too long, boring, pompous- I seriously thought it had been on for about three hours only half way through. The leading lady who looked a little like a slightly Arabic Avril Lavigne was quite charismatic, though.

The theatre version sucks, but I'm holding out hope for the DVD. Still haven't gotten around to seeing it, though.

The theatre version sucks, but I'm holding out hope for the DVD. Still haven't gotten around to seeing it, though. We got the extended DVD and it is soooo much better. There's an entire storyline with the woman (Eva Green... can't remember the character's name) and her son that didn't make it into the theater. Yes, the movie is longer, but I don't mind a long movie as long as it's decent. My score for KoH went from 5.5 to 8. YMMV, but I really liked the new version.

Agreed. The extended version added so much to the film that all of those weird, stilted moments in the theatrical version were explained by the fact that they had to cut so much out. I'm a big nerd and I like DVD extras, so I especially liked the behind-the-scenes stuff on the other discs too.
