Greek Royals

It seems like some of the conversation in other threads is turning to the Greek royal family, so I thought i'd just go ahead and start a thread about them.

What's new? Well, Alexia is pregnant again. Also, Anne Marie is featured in Hello! (the one w/ Donald and Melania on the cover). It's interesting...the photos w/ her grandkids only involve Pavlos' and Marie Chantal's children. I guess b/c Alexia lives in the Canary Islands?

It must be very strange to be a member of the Greek "Royal" Family and yet have no country. Esp. where their relatives and associates (RFs of Britain, Denmark, Spain, etc.) are still ruling. I'd think they'd have serious throne-envy. And what's Pavlos going to do after his father dies? Always be referred to as Crown Prince?

It must be weird to be known as the "Greek" royal family when most of them aren't Greek.

I dunno what will happen when Constantine dies. Pavlos will probably stay "crown prince". Alternativelly, he could declare himself "King of the Hellenes"...but that might have unpleasant political ramifications.

Yeah, he'll always be the crown prince.
And they do have serious throne-envy; Constantine has been pushing to get his throne back for the entire time he's been deposed. I doubt that'll ever happen though.

Yeah...Pavlos will stay "Crown Prince." Technically, as someone else pointed out, he could declare himself King of the Hellenes - but b/c they're deposed that would mean nothing and make the government go batshit, which, considering they've only recently been permitted back in the country, would be a bad idea.

Does anyone know what happens w/ titles of the more junior members of the family? I assume that hte children of Nik and Phillipos would be styled Prince/Princess of Greece and Denmark. But how about the children of the sons of MC and Pavlos (obviously, when they're older) and the children of any sons of Nikolas and Philipos...would they be styled Prince/Princess?

Anne Marie, Constantine, Pavlos, and the Miller parents were at teh Magic of Winter Ball last week. Wonder where MC was.

Maybe Marie Chantal was there, only wasn't photographed (although, that's unlikely). It is kind of weird that her parents, parents-in-law, and husband would go, but she wouldn't . I wonder what she was doing.

Frankly i'm a little surprised that she hasn't be photographed more in London. I thought she'd be all over the place.

I thought I read somewhere that the Miller Ma and Pop were divorced and living apart. Anyone know anything on this?

I haven't heard that. Aren't they old to be getting divorced *now*? Anyway, if it were true, why would htey be goign to parties together.

The Greek Royals (especially MC) prove how pointless this royalty bullshit is. Royals don't have a gene that is distinct to them and that sets them apart from any other human being. They're just as common as the rest of us. The Greek "royals" aren't rulers/figureheads of their country anymore. They have a "Crown Princess" who hasn't even bothered to learn Greek, whose main contribution to society seems to be swanning around at fashion shows. They are useless. The idea of addressing any of them as "Royal" or curtseying to them or showing them any sign of respect makes me want to puke.
