Why does this woman make 20 milliona a film?
I don't like Julia Roberts, but she is still the biggest female star and I understand why her paycheck is so huge.

But Cameron Diaz? I just don't get it. Especially for Charlie's Angels which people didn't go to see just because of her.

IMDB had a little newsie thing about Ms. Diaz flipping out about photographers taking her picture at a press conference during the Toronto Film Festival. She reportedly said "Okay, collectively, how many pictures do you guys think you have? Seriously, do you communicate like this in the bedroom as well? It's insane. I'm having a nervous breakdown with all that clicking."

Oh Cammie, I can understand how photographers snapping your photo while you're out walking or in your front lawn might be annoying but when you're at a press conference, you might want to take less crack that day so that you can handle the inevitable onslaught of photos.

I sort of agree. I mean, she won some perstigious awards for There's Something About Mary - which, for a film like that, was a big recognition of her talent. She also gets a lot of praise when she deserves it (Being John Malkovich, Vanilla Sky). However, because of her looks and public persona, she is not thought of, imo, as a huge talent. She really is quite versatile and can be incredibly subtle. Not the greatest actress, but a very good one.

My point? She does get critical respect - perhaps more than she sometimes deserves (did she really need awards and nominations for Mary?) but doesn't have the reputation that she deserves.

She's one of those people where I generally like her movie choices (with the exception of Charlies Angels 2) and I think she's a talented actress but she personally drives me batty with her whining, fighting with photogs, public grossness and general crackiness. I feel the same way about Gwyneth and Julia Roberts. I'll watch their movies and 9 times out of 10 I love the movie but I would not want to be trapped in an elevator with any of these chicks.

That being said, I can not WAIT for In Her Shoes. I loved the book and I think this movie could be one of those that could maybe possibly in a perfect world get some Golden Globe attention for the stars.

Ditto here. And I'm not sure the poster calling her 'trash' is too far off the mark. In fact, I see her as a brawling woman, and the drugs don't help her to be a better person.

I generally like CD. Probably because I think she is a decent actress and I don't pay much attention to her personal life - and that's mostly because I try to avoid Justin "PAB" Timberlake like the plague. Last time a saw an interview with her was when she was on Oprah with Jon Stewart, and the poor girl was so out of her league on the intellectual front. Jon was trying to be nice and was holding back, but he was still running circles around her. She seemed nice enough though.

I don't know if she's a big party girl or what, but I wish she'd slow it down, wash her face, and take a nap. She was so gorgeous in The Mask and she's looking pretty rough lately. Not Tara Reid rough, but a lot worse than a gal in her early 30s should look like.
