I'm sure I've mentioned this here before but when I want to get bizzy with the Duchess I tell her, "I caught you a delicious bass."
P.S. Limey, your avatar made my day!

Why did Deb take that as such a severe diss?
I just thought it was a self-conscious teenager spazzing over the awkwardness in her own mind. Does "Your mom goes to college" mean something else?

I would love a t-shirt like that. Such a "Kip" diss - the 32 year old who still lives at home, chatting on the internet and dreaming of becoming a cage fighter.
I have no idea what Lafawnduh saw in him...but never underestimate the appeal of a desperate man, I guess.

No, I don't think it has any additional meaning. I always took it as an illustration of Kip's perpetual and unabashed dorkiness. Especially, the way he then snickers at his own lame-ass insult. Haha!

Best. Movie. Ever. It's on my top ten comedy list along with Life of Brian, Something About Mary, Blazing Saddles, The Big Lebowski, and Young Frankenstein, among others. My kids love it as well. Many an argument between my oldest daughter (9 yrs. old) and myself have been defused by a well placed, "I'll do whatever I WANT! Gosh!" We both just crack up. We simply cannot stop quoting this movie! Even the classic, "Have you seen my baseball?" and "Fuck it, Dude. Let's go bowling." can't compare to Napoleon's sweet conversation skillz.

Definately a film that is better after a second viewing. I am like others who thought it was ok the first time. The second time though I fell in love with it and now I think it is utterly brilliant.

I agree with ladymadonna, this movie definitely makes my top 10 list.
I hesitated about watching this movie for a long time, because I'd seen the previews and it looked funny, but I was also concerned that it would be a pretentious indie movie. So I eventually sucked it up and watched it, and I loved it. I watched it four days ago and haven't been able to get it out of my head.
I loved Napoleon's character. He wasn't a geek that blossomed, or that pulled off some big act that made everyone love him (apart from the dance for pedro, of course), he was just an awkward kid with a sucky family who told lies and was grumpy and didn't particularly care if anyone liked him or not.
So true, and I want that on a t-shirt too. I loved Pedro's cousins with all the sweet hook-ups. It was too funny when the bully was trying to steal the other kids' bike, and Pedro's cousins pulled up in their lowrider with 'Vote for Pedro' on the side, and just shook their heads at him.

That's exactly why I loved the character too. And I loved the look and wardrobe of the film. The popular kids weren't in designer clothes - they were in "small town popular kid" clothes. And Napoleon was kitted out in the most unflattering pair of jeans I've ever seen on a guy. They're like Mom jeans.
I loved that they picked Napoleon up when they saw him walking down the street, then picked up his date and took them both to the dance. Did they even know who he was? I suppose they could have guessed he was a friend of Pedro's since Napoleon guessed who they were, but I thought it was awesome that they picked up some random geek and then got him (and his date) to the dance on time.

I just finished watching it. I'm going to make myself watch it again to see if I enjoy it more, but I'm pretty meh about it so far. Maybe because I hang around with those sort of geeks a fair bit. Its like reality tv for me.
