Bwaha! Oh thank God, I thought I was the only one who wanted them to boink. Throughout the movie I was trying to think of some situation where it would have been appropriate for them to make out. But there's always the possibility of a sequel, right? Right?!
(And huntergrayson, I would have been so pissed at your friend if I had gone into the movie expecting angry passionate hate sex and ending up horribly dissapointed. Still, I must give her points for telling people that. Hee!)

Ditto on the boinking.
During the one part of the film where she explains her back story (don't know how to do spoiler tags, so I hope ya'll remember!)....I thought CM looked a little misty. I was hoping she'd reform him, etc, etc. Yes, I'm a total sap.

I liked this movie a hell of a lot more than I expected to - it is definitely the best movie surprise I've had all summer. McAdams walked a great line between helpless/ass-kicky, and I liked how a lot of her responses to the crazy dilemma were resourceful and somewhat grounded in reality (I hate to call the movie realistic, but it was cool how she used ordinary objects to foil Rippner).
I went to a Friday night showing with a very reactive audience, which was a real treat as well. When the little girl tripped Rippner with her duffel bag, my audience positively ERUPTED with laughter and applause.
Speaking of which, I am really astonished that no matter how many beatings, bullets, stab wounds to the trachea and other assorted injuries Cillian Murphy took, he still remained sex on a freakin bike. I, too, wanted them to start making out. Because you know, she needs DNA evidence against this guy.

The movie was OK but I expected much more of it. I think the story in itself could have been developed a little bit more. Phonebooth pretty much had a similar story but I find it far superior in the suspense stakes.
My main criticisms are:
1. The little girl added nothing to the story. Why didn't they cut her role out. Would have saved money.
2. I didn't feel that the makers of the film developed the Keefe family (the target) properly. I know that he was an important politician but I thought the film should have pulled the viewer more on their side thus explaining why Rachel McAdams' character was willing to risk hers and her father's life to save them. Humanity??
Rachel McAdams was good although I couldn't help but think that she might be the poor woman's Parker Posey.

I really, really loved this movie. It wasn't anything too complex or convoluted. Just a good ol' thriller. Everything it should've been, and was probably made to be. Rachel McAdams rocked, as did Cillian Murphy. I really didn't even mind the Colby cameo.
First movie in a while that actually did what it advertised to do, no bullshit attached.

Watched it last night. Liked it but Cillian Murphy's eyes creeped me out at first. And he wasn't all that believable any more when they were << fighting at the house, because he looks so delicate that it was clear that Lisa would totally kick his ass.>>
And I think I really like Rachel McAdams as an actress ( I know absolutely nothing about her). I didn't like the girl at the hotel, she reminded me of Judy Greer.

And I think I really like Rachel McAdams as an actress ( I know absolutely nothing about her). Actually, from interviews and stuff she seems pretty grounded and sweet. I was looking forward to this movie but I couldn't take it seriously. When Cillian was walking around the house in that scarf...my friends and I laughed so hard - I almost peed my pants. It was good.

I laughed until I cried at that (and the fact that he kept rasping/talking) until fellow theater patrons started shooting me dirty looks.
A friend of mine is considering dressing as Cillian -- complete with silly scarf and a monster pen sticking out of his neck -- for Halloween. That? Would be awesome.

Maybe the DVD will add the deleted sweaty hate-sex scene. ;D
Trust me you guys, it really helps explain a lot of the characters' motivations...
