I can't believe they made a sequel to this.
Discuss.

I tried to watch the first one and just stopped about twenty minutes in. Well, watched it in fast-motion stopping only to watch the most homoerotic fight scene quite possibly in the history of cinema. Weee! Otherwise, the lead actor had about as much charisma as a can of cheap tuna fish-- did the original do well enough to justify a sequel? I had no clue...

This is a guilty pleasure movie through and through.
ETA: Just came back from seeing this and enjoyed it wholeheartedly. Solid, quality entertainment.

Well, I liked it. It held my attention better than the last 35 years worth of James Bond movies, or the last 10 years worth of Jackie Chan movies. There's no mugging for the camera, no lame "backstory" so that our hero has the proper "motivation"--there's no time, we've got to get to the next wildly improbable kick-fight or car chase. It's fast-moving and chop-socky and makes absolutely no sense at all. Jason Statham has about one and a half expressions throughout the entire film, which is just right. And the rapturous Amber Valletta is in it too. I can stand maybe one generic action thriller per year, and this was it for me.

I haven't seen all of the first one, but yeah, I can't believe they made a sequel either. All I remember from the first is that big, dumb Slip 'n Slide oil fight. How are they going to top that? Duking it out in a McDonald's ball pool? Or in one of those big, inflatable bouncy things? Kung-fu sidewalk chalk?

I laughed my ass off during the first one (for all the wrong reasons) and I'll probably see the 2nd when it comes out on DVD.
Why oh why did Jason Statham not use his regular accent??? its uber sexy. His American....not so much.

I thought he was using his British accent (maybe not his real Brit accent but a British one nonetheless) in The Transporter. I don't even know what to say if that is an attempt at an American one. Wow.

I really liked the first one but the second hasn't gotten that great of reviews. I think it will have to wait on my Netflix list.
