Sappy but good. I spent the better part of the second half choked up in tears. Glad to see Reese Witherspoon down about 3 notches from character to real person, I really liked her in this.
I thought Abby and her daughters were so funny, probably because my cousin is that way with her kids. "Do you have to do that in here?! It's not like we have 6 other rooms!"

I thought Abby and her daughters were so funny, probably because my cousin is that way with her kids. They really added a lot to the movie. In the book that this movie is based on, they weren't part of the story. It was a good call to include them. *spoiler* The part where she smacks the ball away while talking on the phone was probably the funniest part of the whole movie *end of spoiler* I thought Mark and Reese were really great together. They had a very easy chemistry and brought lots of laughs with their banter.

Just tell me one thing: is her hair as screwed up as it is in the trailer? Cuz if it's like that the Whole Movie, I will fixate on the hair and it'll ruin the whole Reese experience for me.
Also: do they use that wonderful Cure song on the soundtrack? With the title, I just figured...

The hair isn't that bad actually. And she has a couple of other parts with really cute wavy hair.
I thought they picked a stupid flippy hairstyle seeing as how Reese had to have it for almost the whole movie. You can't make it look exactly the same every day for a couple months. Hairstylist nightmare.

The original Cure version is at the end of the movie. A remake by some female singer I didn't recognize is over the beginning credits.
A very wet Mark Ruffalo in the shower was definitely the high point of this movie. Otherwise, it's a DVD rental. Ghost did this all much better.

Unlike Ghost*, it didn't have a criminal storyline. It's basically a romantic comedy, which is great if that's what your looking for - which I was. I thought it was adorable. Reese wasn't so over-the-top, thank God, and I defy anyone who finds fault with Mark. The sister's spoon action was definitely the best part of the movie though.
*Not a fan myself, but I'll save the rant for when I bother finding out if there's a thread or not. Let's just leave it at I laugh inappropriately far too often to get the love.

I thought it was a cute movie, not great or remarkable, but cute. I loved Mark in it. He's never impressed me as a great actor, but he was really good in this film. Reese was good too and likeable. I agree with the reviews that said that this is not a strong story, but the leads carry it well. With less likeable leads, this movie wouldn't have been as good.

So funny. I was just coming to post that although I liked it, and thought it was very sweet, it somehow seemed...insubstantial. I was trying to figure out why--good acting, likeable actors, decent writing, good chemistry, some genuinely moving moments...and the only way I could pin it down in my mind was that the movie does fall into the genre of romantic comedy, but in a way it feels as if it could have been a drama, almost. And there just wasn't enough to it to make it into a drama, so I came away feeling disappointed about that. I still liked it (loved Mark's facial expressions when the two were leaving the bald guy's apartment--the one who thought they were detectives--I'm not giving away any important info. here--but anyway, that was my favorite part).

Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus from others who have seen it too. The story just seems kinda blah, but the leads were great and were great together. Kinda bugged me how Reese always looked so fresh after pulling a 26 hour shift in the beginning though.

For those who've seen it, I'm curious how much Jon Heder is in the film? When I first saw the trailers, I thought they'd snuck him in to catch the Napoleon Dynamite crowd. And how is he as not-Napoleon?
