I saw it tonight and wasn't disappointed. It wasn't fabulous, which I expected, but it was funny. Also? They nailed the experience of working in a restaurant. No, I never screwed with anyone's food (nor have I ever seen a cook or another server do so), but my God have I been tempted. Every rude, crazy customer the movie featured? I know those people and waited on them on a regular basis for seven years. Some people have this attitude that servers are beneath them (which was a joke, because almost all of our staff members were college students, teachers working part time and various nice, intelligent people -- some with master's degrees!) and treat them like scum. I always wonder, how stupid do you have to be to give attitude to someone who will be handling your food?
Anyway, the movie was fairly forgettable, but it was funny and (dandruff seasoning aside) realistic, IMHO. Two thumbs up. Ryan Reynolds and Dane Cook (who I think could pass for brothers) can do no wrong in my book.
