I just got back from seeing Hostel, and I must say that it is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I loved Saw and Saw II, so I hoped to see some similarity with this movie, but the only thing they have in common is gore. And honestly, after the first five minutes of the gore-fest, I was so desensitized that nothing fazed me.
The first forty five minutes of this movie is nothing but tits, tits and even more tits. I seriously saw more boobage in this flick than in a standard porn. I started to get bored, wondering where this was going. Finally, they got to the "good" stuff, if you can call it that.
And two of the three main characters are so gross and chauvanistic that it's really hard to find anyone to root for.
Boring, predictable and just plain bad is how I would sum it up. The only good part of this shitfest was getting to see the trailer for "Hard Candy", which looks like an intriguing movie. Oh, and the sexiness of Jay Hernandez... that was good, too.
