^Thank you so much I love that song. O/T that guy in the video, I haven't seen that many Bollywood movies but he's been in at least half of them!

The plot had a lot of holes and was hard to believe how they managed to not catch anybody since they had everybody on camera before the robbers went in the bank, so it shouldn't be hard to identify the additional ones. But wasn't a big part of it that since no one was seriously hurt the Police department just wanted the case closed. So they promoted Denzel's character as a kind of payoff for him to drop the whole thing.

Yeah, actually that stuck out like a sore thumb - Christopher Plummer was looking very fit and healthy and then he comes out with "60 years ago..." and I was like "What?? But he's only 65 surely!" Then I remembered the Sound of Music and realised he had to be a bit older. But that still pissed me off because I guess Spike wanted us to believe he was ANCIENT. And he wasn't. It was like Spike hired him just because Christopher Plummer is undeniably cool and to Hell with what age he looked.
Jodie looked ohmygod amazing, and yes those SHOES sweet mercy. And that red Birkin....I'm drooling here. And I don't even like Birkins! But it was a bit distracting how orange her legs were. And Mr. Bfrog remarked on how during that scene walking with Plummer by the river she looked like she hadn't walked in heels in a while.
Denzels horse teeth always annoy the hell out of me but he was obviously having a ball and I got into his character a lot. He's ageing pretty well too - he looked younger than his years.
I LOVED how many small "unknowns" got a speaking bit, like the old lady who wouldn't take her clothes off. I thought she was amazing.
Willem Dafoe was wasted - don't know why they got a "face" for that role when it wasn't worth it.
HATED Denzels Hoochie Cop girlfriend - I thought she was a ridiculous stereotype of the "sexy black mama". She was acting like all she thought about was sexsexsexsexsex and she was gleaming and pouting and forgodssake just hump the desk already. Ludicrous.
eta: How hilarious was the video game insert? "Kill Dat ****!" I roared out loud at that one. And good point to make about those games, too.

We finally watched it tonight, and I really liked it. It was fun, entertaining, and not stupid. Not so sure about Denzel's snazzy suit, bowtie and jaunty hat, though.

Thanks for the link! We just watched the film again tonight and the song is totally stuck in my head. I just can't figure out what the song has to do with the movie? anything?

On the commentary, Spike Lee said he'd liked the song in Dil Se and wanted to work into one of his movies someday.
Spike re-used part of the Inside Man score for his Hurricane Katrina documentary, which took me out of it for a minute, though I thought it worked better there than in the movie.

I just saw this movie tonight, and had to answer this: Yeah but couldn't they identify the people before the robbers went in the bank because they had footage of that. Once you do that and you're interviewing everybody in the end, you compare all the screen shots and can easily see who was added to the lot. It's because the cameras were knocked out several minutes before the rest of the robbers actually came in, so they had no way of knowing if more real customers had entered the bank during the missing few minutes. Denzel's character mentions this briefly in the scene where they realize the cameras were knocked out. At least that's how I interpretted it. You'd think they'd still have manged to work out who was who based on their stories, though. All in all, I enjoyed it a lot. Very gripping, and a good mystery. I couldn't wait to find out what was going on. And Clive Owen's voice is yummy. Although one thing I didn't quite get was the timeline at the end. It seemed like the assistants said they had 2 or 3 hours to go and then suddenly the cops were busting in almost immediately afterwards, but they'd finished at that point. I think maybe the editing just confused me.

The thing that bothers me is that they could've easily figured out that the big-breasted girl was a robber because she was wearing clothes under the coveralls, when the hostages all were supposed to just have their underwear on under there. That just bugs the crap out of me.

Yeah. The only thing I can think there is that when they panned the hostages in their underwear there was at least one woman wearing a tank top, not a bra, and the robber was wearing what looked like a flimsy tank top too.
