Anyone see this last night?
I will say that I saw a 1/4 of the film. It was so bad that the person I was with and myself, got up, walked out and got our money back!
It's Kate going through the motions, Matt being the boring but handsome straight man and Owen being his character in the Wedding Crashers. Except not that funny.
I was disappointed. It takes a lot for me to walk out of a movie.

I haven't seen it and have little to no desire to but have to say that:
1) I can't fracking believe that this was directed by the Russos, of Arrested Development fame. 2) And I really, really want to know the ending w/r/t Dupree after Slate called it "this predictable film's one real element of surprise."

Hmm, I wonder what that was. It'll be another day or two before it ends up on themoviespoiler.com.
I'm not sure I was keen to see it to begin with, but I heard or saw a review yesterday that said that it switches gears abruptly -- Dupree goes from a lazy oaf to a poetry-quoting gourmet-meal cooking metrosexual, lending a sensitive ear to Kate Hudson and making Matt Dillon's character feel inadequate. That doesn't sound good.

The fact that commercials for this flick brag that Owen was in "Wedding Crashers" (and even show a clip from that movie!) is a very bad sign. They might as well just say, "This movie sucks, but his last one was funny, so maybe you should see this one too, you know? Pleeease?"

I saw it tonight, and I didn't think it was that bad, at least not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. Not the best movie ever, but it made me laugh a lot, which is more than I can say for any other movie I've seen this summer.

I also liked it- it did start out slow, mugatu, you missed the funny parts. I too thought I had made a big mistake until Dupree did his switcharoo.
The fantasy sequence was hi-freakin-larious.
And why is it that I forgot how hot Matt Dillon is! My heavens. Kate Hudson, on the other hand, was boring and unnaturally skinny.

I haven't seen it and have little to no desire to but have to say that: Same here. A friend went and saw it this weekend (it was either that or Little Man) and said it wasn't too bad. Not worth the price of admission, but good for a rental. I have no desire to see it at all. I'll watch it if someone else pays for the rental.

I'm praying that my boyfriend doesn't realize that Brittany Daniel is in Little Man, because then I'll have to see it.
A couple friends that saw it this weekend said it's a good rental. I really like Owen Wilson, I don't want to think of him as a "good to rent" type actor, but I feel that it will turn this way if Wes Anderson doesn't help him out again.

I want those 90 minutes of my life back. Some of it was really funny, but most of the time, it just bored the hell outta me.
In return for seeing this shite, two friends have to go to The Devil Wears Prada and POTC:DMC with me. It wasn't terrible, but I sat through Click for these people, too.
