Saw this last night at the Film Forum in NYC. I think it is a very limited release so I'm not sure where else it is playing, if it all. What a beautiful film---I think any artist will find it very inspiring. Given the climate of today's music, it was remarkable to see someone who actually had thought, intelligence, beauty and integrity in their writing. The performers covering his music were glorious across the board, especially Antony, Rufus Wainwright, Teddy Thompson and U2, and their reverence and respect for Cohen was very moving. Anyone see it?

I haven't seen it but it was shown at Sundance in the beginning of this year. I don't think it was received very well by the critics, but I don't care. I'll watch it anyway. Love Leonard Cohen.

Cranky Stephen Holden from the NYTimes gave it a rave, as did EW. Yeah, don't let the reception at Sundance influence you--it was SO wonderful. Even my date, who is not really a Cohen fan, left saying how profound and beautiful the film was. And Rufus' Chelsea Hotel No. 2 brought tears to my eyes.

I really really really can't wait to see this. Unfortunately, it's not likely to show anytime soon in the middle of Ohio. Sigh. And I want to see it on a big screen, not rent it. Double sigh. Hey... wait... ROADTRIP!!!
