I just saw this movie a few days ago and I really, really liked it. I didn't think it would be any good, but it was! I cried a little bit, too.
And Dustin Hoffman's son (adult version of the son) is hot!

Ok, I know I'm dragging this thread waaaaaay up from page four, but I only just saw it (I guess it just came out here). And I actually liked it pretty darn well, too. Of course, I'm contractually obligated to like anything that features Christopher Walken being his loveably creepy self, and I'm incapable of fully disliking anything that features Henry Winkler. Yeah, it was pretty predictable since it's a big Hollywood picture featuring big-name stars, but for what it is, it's done really well and doesn't seem overly manipulative.
Plus, Adam Sandler's adult son was hot.

That was Jack Nicholson's daughter? That was Dustin Hoffman's son??
I had no idea - they're both pretty damn hot, actually. I thought he was the cutest thing alive, and she's now my new girlcrush.
I saw this movie and was actually kinda disappointed. I didn't laugh much. I was expecting it to be a comedy and instead there was a good half hour there towards the end where it was actually pretty upsetting. The Henry Winkler bit at the end traumatised me! And Adam Sandler spent like 20 minutes crying - they didn't put that on the poster!
So I feel like I saw a movie I didn't sign up for. I felt like Adam Sandler was being all "I can ACT, y'all! Look at me crying here!!" when all I wanted was more funny bits.
David Hasselhoff was the only thing in the movie that made me giggle - it says a lot when I come out of the theatre and say "That should've had more Hoff".
I thought Christopher Walken was just walking through the movie thinking of the new house he was getting with his salary (now that's what I call the minimum of effort required from an actor), and Kate Beckinsale looked about as unrealistic for her role as was humanly possible. All that hair and lipgloss....ugh. Shyeah, suburban moms wear skimpy little hotpants going to bed ALL THE TIME! Even when they aged her she looked like a model. I hate all that vanity/insecurity about looks pouring out of the screen - it's one of the reasons I won't go to any Aniston movies.
Her character could have been SO much more interesting if she'd tried to be more realistic - a real Everywoman who feels invisible. Instead we get this gorgeous Fembot who frowns at him and gets annoyed and next thing is sucking his face off. *sigh*

Oy. I'm so glad I read this thread before Mr. John-boy's Mole went to the video store.
I hate it when I expect good old stupid humor and get family friendly saccharin.

Jack Nicholson's daughter was the teenage version of Samantha; David Cassidy's daughter played her as an adult. Celebrity babies were all over this movie.

Hmmm... I thought the previews looked crappy, but you guys are actually making me rethink a freakin' Adam Sandler movie. Was Jack Nicholson's daughter with Angelica Houston?

I believe it's his daughter with Rebecca Broussard, the woman he left Angelica Huston for.
