I have been burned by leaving movies too early this summer and missing the little scenes at the end- so we sat thru all of the credits on Clerks 2. It took alot of people to make that little movie! There seems to be a minor controversy with listing the MySpace friends at the end. Kevin has been blogging about it for the last several days.
On to the critique- I liked it, possibly better than Clerks. Jeff Anderson's acting has gotten alot better, and it is always a treat to see Jay and Silent Bob. And like I said in Mewes' thread- Jay is looking good. I hope he stays on the wagon.
Brian O'Halloran is still not much of an actor (but seems like a good guy), and I did not really buy the love triangle. Plus, Kevin's wife (who played Emma) really, REALLY needs to eat a sandwich. His daughter is cute, but unfortunately got more of her dad's genes than her mom's. Elias was freaking hilarious, though. Great addition. I thought Ben's cameo was the funniest.
I am starting to forget the backstory of the original Clerks (its been 12 years), can someone refresh my memory? Aren't all the actors friends of Kevin's? That movie reminds me of college.

Yes - Kevin worked at that Quick Stop during the day, and shot the movie at night after closing.
Everybody in the movie was family, friends, customers and co-workers.

I highly suggest checking out The Snowball Effect from the Clerks Special Edition DVD. It's one of the best "Making of" Doc's I've seen. I half remember Brian and Jeff auditioning for the part because they didn't know Kevin. I believe he put an Ad up at a College looking for actors. Though I could be wrong. It's been about a year since I've watched it.

Off topic: I LOVE your avatar, jettrink. On topic? I'm so getting the special edition DVD. Even more on topic, Kevin Smith's daughter is adorable. She look so much like him! His wife? Horrifyingly thin. But a pretty girl.
My God, I am so vapid I have nothing to comment on other than what people look like. I am duly ashamed.

I thought Kevin's wife looked like a rough-faced tranny in the movie, although in pix I've seen of them out and about, she's looked normal.

She was also in Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back. I think she looks alot better as a brunette.

Everyone else he knew. It's been so long since I've heard the story.

TTMR and I saw this in the theater today, and we both liked it. I thought the ending was very believable, even if I sort of question that two pot dealers had $50,000 laying around. I was shocked at how thin Kevin Smith's wife was. I remember her looking much better in JaSBSB. His little girl is as cute as can be, and I turned to TTMR and said, "I bet that girl is his daughter."

I saw it today and I liked it.
Jay and Silent Bob had money because in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, they got a financial settlement from the movie studio after Holden (played by Ben Affleck) sold the movie rights to a comic book based on Jay and Silent Bob.
Loved the musical number!
