*sigh*
OutKast is WAY more talented than Beyonce, and dare I say it, Christina.
(I love me some Andre)
So, it will be so disappointing if it doesn't do well in theaters. Even Mr. Wolf, the lamest, most rhythmically challenged white boy there is, got sucked in by the commercials and the music.

I want to see this too. I was surprised to see it advertised though--I could've sworn it was going to be shown on HBO. I had no idea it was scheduled for wide release. But I'll totally give them some opening-weekend cash. Anything for Terrence Howard and his smart-dressing butt. I've been looking forward to this too. They've been promoting it on HBO for ages- like since last winter- so maybe they were still working on a theatrical release date. I had no idea Terrence Howard was in it until the recent promos. I guess after his Oscar nomination, he's as big a draw as Outkast.

*sigh* OutKast is WAY more talented than Beyonce, and dare I say it, Christina. Interesting fact:Bryan Barber, who directed Idlewild, also directed CA's "Ain't No Other Man" video, so he not only knows his way around the genre, he seems to know real talent when he sees it.

Huh. So this isn't a documentary about the Scottish pop band?
Still, it sounds interesting. Too bad we never get any cool movies where I live. Maybe it'll come out in Orlando and I can go there to see it!

Well I just saw a preview and it looks SOOOO cool. So, is it a full-out musical?

The trailer for this is fantastic - I'd never heard of it, but now really want to go see it solely pased on the preview.
The August release is a bit worrying, though...

I liked the trailer, but reviews have been pretty negative, saying it jumps around too much and is too clichéd.

I'm so excited for this movie too. It seems, from the previews, to be so well done and engaging. Every time I see the previews, I want to dance and jump out of my chair. And I am Whitey Whiterton. lol This cracked me up . . . that's ok there are plenty of white folks with plenty of soul. ;D

Has anyone else seen this? I went tonight and I really enjoyed it. Visually very striking and interesting, excellent music and dance scenes. It was rather predictable, though, and dragged some places. But I saw it with the weirdest audience ever; they laughed at everything. Violence, shootings, all of it brought loud guffaws. This is the second time in two weeks I've been at a movie where people laughed at really seriously unfunny things.

Saw it. Loved it. I know what you mean about dragging at times, and it wasn't quite... cohesive, yet it still worked for me. It was really creative, fun ...a masculine Moulin Rouge.
The soundtrack is excellent. I've been playing it on a loop for the past 5 days! It’s this 1930's jazz/blues/30's musical/big band infused hip-hop/R&B and a few beautiful instrumental pieces. Creatively, it's what Christina Aguilera’s Back to Basics should have been.
