I like Rania...she's done much to advance women's rights in Jordan...especially calling attention to the problem of honour killings. She also seems quite well respected by some of the world leaders - the US seems especailly fond of her; more so than they were of Noor which is interesting b/c Noor's American. I like Rania too, as well as the whole 'Family'. Why is it, that the U.S is more fond of Rania than Noor? I've never heard this, but then again, I haven't kept up-to-date with everything anyway. Care to enlighten me? ;D

That would be because of the world class nose job. Great work.

Slightly OT but wasn't her husband a huge Star Trek fan? Didn't he do a guest spot on Stra Trek: TNG? She is beautiful.

Yes, I read he was an extra! So, does anyone else think that Rania has the 'balls' in that family?

I just read an article about crafty King Abdullah, I don't thing Rania is leading him by the nose. She may be guilty of knowing how to please him, but she isn't making the decisions.

Her husband had a walk-on part on Star Trek: Voyager.

I don't know what article Aspasia is referring to. However, I know that there is a school of thought that Abdullah is drunk on power and that he is definetly in charge. He supposedly has removed anyone who could challange his power and is too insecure to have good, competent people around him. There is also allegations that much of the aid that Jordan is receiving from the west is ending up in King Abdullah's and Queen Rania's pocket.

Thanks for filling me in! I always believed that Rania 'ran' the family (until now). Where can I get more information on this?
