George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, and Tobey Maguire star in Steven Soderbergh's thriller/mystery set in post-WWII Berlin. The poster looks great, as does the trailer. The resemblances to Casablanca are inevitable. Cate looks so much like a 40s movie icon it's almost eerie. Poster and Trailer

I listened to the book on tape last January when I was working at a very boring office job. It was okay; a little heavy-handed at times, and the lead character was something of a Gary Stew, but on the whole entertaining. Clooney's not at all who I would've imagined in the lead role, but it seems to be exactly the type of character he prefers to play. Cate Blanchett is perfect for the role of Lena.
I'll go see it. The secondary characters and their plotlines are much more interesting than the leads, and I'm hoping they really develop that in the film.
ETA: Well, crap. I just looked at the cast list on IMDB, and it appears they've cut the most interesting characters out entirely.

I haven't read the book, but the story sounds intriguing. I like all of the lead actors, so I'll be checking it out. Entertainment Weekly printed a picture of a different version of the poster[/color], which I thought was even more eye-catching. The Casablanca-esque script on that version is really cool and I like the red/B&W color scheme.
