As soon as I got my paycheck and tips, I went next door to Virgin. Mommie was 10 bucks. It seemed like the only rational solution to keep me from sobbing uncontrollably for the rest of the evening. I think I love you. I could only love you more if you'd told her "Why can't you give me the respect that I'm entitled to?" Heh. And I'm sorry the woman was such a cow, but you'll always have New York! Have a blast there, and then come back to share all the sordid details with us.

For those that have it, I've heard the Waters commentary is not as good as people hoped - true or non? True, well at least for me. John has a great sense of humor—and irony–and I thought it just didn't come through on the commentary. There were a few good lines, but mostly, eh. I'd like to hear yours and others' thoughts about it as well.

I agree. I'm a huge JW fan -- sat in front of him and Knoxville at the premiere of A Dirty Shame and nearly wet myself, basking in the glow of his greatness (even got the scoop as to when Cry-Baby was being released on DVD) -- but found the commentary on Mommie Dearest more informative than wicked, amusing in parts but kinda tame. The best parts are when he almost shushes the viewer when the juicy bits are about to happen.
He spends a good part of the commentary defending the movie as not-bad filmmaking and, while he's technically correct, it doesn't make for the sort of commentary the material -- or his stature in cinematic history -- deserves. Stick to his own movies for JW commentary. The talk-track for Female Trouble is almost as funny as the movie itself.

How about the most horrifically acted and translated "Antigone" ever? (spoken in droning monotone) "Understay-and. The first word...I ever heard...out of any of you...was that word...understay-and. There'll be time enough to understay-and when I'm old. If I ever get old. Oh, but not nay-ow."
p.s. huntergrayson!!! What are you doing in NY??? Come visit me!
