Amy Poehler was awesome, even though she's only five years older than Rachel McAdams.

Tina mentions that a lot in the commentary. She keeps saying, "It's crazy that Amy is playing a teenage girl's mom. She's way too young for that."

The commentary is awesome. I think that Lacy Chabert (not certain, it may have been someone else) quoted someone else as saying, "Women could rule the world if only they stopped hating each other so much."
Did anyone else here read the book that Tina Fey based the movie on, "Queen Bees and Wannabees"? It's a great how-to book for parents about how to negotiate your teenage daughter through the world of cliques. It's a great book, and after I saw the movie, I went out and hunted the book down. I don't even have kids, and it was a really interesting read!

"He's your first cousin!"
"So? You have your cousins, then your first cousin... that's not right is it?"
"No honey, that's so not right."
I thought Gretchen Wieners was pretty in a young Eva Longoria sort of way, so I didn't understand why the movie seemed to be playing that she wasn't all that.
By the way, anyone remember the scene where the camera just pulls back from Regina George, slowly revealing the chaos she's started? Rachel McAdams is just standing there, hip cocked, LV purse dangling, and there's such a satisfied smile of pure evil and power. That scene gets me every time.
oh, and "You smell like a baby prostitute."

I love Tim Meadows as the principal, too.
(after mispronouncing Cady's name) "My apologies. I have a nephew named Anforny and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I realize my sister named her son Anforny."

Karen: "Ma'am, do you have this in the next size up?" Saleslady: "Sorry, we only carry sizes 1, 3, and 5. You could try Sears."
So many quotable lines from this movie. It's the Clueless for the 21st century.

I totally just watched this on TBS while I procrastinate! I heart this movie. So much so that I re-visited the movie's official website (it's still up!) and played some of the games they have up there. My favorite is the clothes game, where you have to pick out a week's worth of outfits for Cady that follow the Plastics' rules. It's surprisingly difficult!
This movie has so many great lines. Most of them have already been named. I love "boo, you whore!" and "Four for Glen Coco, you go Glen Coco! And none for Gretchie Wieners, bye!" My friends and I also use "I don't think my father, the inventor of toaster strudels, would (fill in the blank)," "hoop earrings are MY thing," and "that is the ugliest effing _________ I've ever seen!" and of course..."so fetch!"
And God help me, I like Lindsay Lohan because of this movie. I know she flashes her cooter and shows up late to work, and is always coked out, but she is actually a good actress.

Me too. "Wrong. Totally wrong." LiLo was so cute and pretty in this movie; I'll always love her a bit for it. It does make her coke whoring much more sad, though.
Rachel McAdams totally disappears into her character -- so much so that I always forget that she was even in the movie. Although the blond hair totally washes her out. [/shallow]
