Bumping this topic as I saw this yesterday. I thought it was decent, but waaaay too long. The music is beautiful and I floved Prudence and Max.

Overall, I thought the movie suffered from being too pretentious, and would have been better if it had been more "wink wink, nudge nudge" about the Beatles references like, say, Mama Mia was with Abba. As for the topic? Hair did it much better.

I won't be buying the dvd. But I am in love with the soundtrack.

Bump!

I wasn’t a huge fan of Across the Universe, I will always appreciate its sometimes stunning production design and for selecting less well-known Beatles songs in it (“If I Fell", I’ve Just Seen a Face”, etc. ). Unlike Yesterday, it takes creative chances and doesn’t play it safe.
