Brooke Shields on the subject of CTC:
"I'm going to take a wild guess that Tom Cruise has never suffered from postpartum depression."
Way to go, Brooke!

I haven't read it yet, but Part Four is up and highly relevant to our discussion: Scientology vs. Psychiatry. I'm so glad that they covered this in depth so that I have a better grasp on the weirdness. Can I freak out now and say "You Don't Understand the History of Scientology...I do!"

I don't think there's a scan that will detect the sort of chemical imbalance that leads to something like depression. Which doesn't mean, of course, that those imbalances don't exist. Properly conducted research has demonstrated that they do, which is good enough for me. Oh, absolutely. I think there are some disorders that can be detected via brainscan. And I agree, it doesn't mean chemical imbalances don't exist. To me, the chemical imbalance explanation makes PERFECT sense. Our body and/or brain chemistry do affect how we act and feel. I can always tell when my grandmother (she's diabetic) hasn't been eating right, because she gets absolutely nasty and horrid. As for "vitamens", aren't vitamens chemicals as well? So what if it's "natural?" Snake venom and poison ivy are natural. Oh, and as I mentioned in Clambo's thread, I'm reading A Piece of Blue Sky. I'll keep everyone up to date-it's really fascinating. He's not in it, as it was published in 1990, but it should provide some fascinating insite into these yahoos.

Are they Scientologists too? I went past their building in Hollywood the other day and noticed the Psychiatry Kills!!! banners they have up. I'd laugh and laugh and say no-one is listening to those crazy fringe elements but a few years ago I felt the same way about evangelical Christians so instead I'm a bit scared.
And Florida? What is UP?!?! Are you the Retarded State or what?

That's what Dr. Drew (formerly of Loveline, currently teaching at USC and on Discovery Health) said on tonight's "Countdown" And Keith Oberman (sp?) used CTC's recent bitchy remark to Bild about aliens as the reason he is the Worst Person In The World...for today.

That is one of the bigger things that bug me about CLAMland. They make these organizations such as CCHR and Narnacon or whatever.Just to promote their own propoganda. They organize under the guise to help people then babble the scientology bull, and give them enough info to kindle a small wild fire.and of course to get healed you must shell out all your $$ to them.then if you ahppen to not be a millionare that owns your own jet, or weekend in Barbados. You will be scrubbing the floors of the Scientology Centre for the rest of your existance.

I wonder if Tom's cousin William Mapother is a Scientologist as well? I'm leaning towards not, because I haven't seen him mentioned much in the celeb lists or FAQs but on the other hand, he's been in a couple of Tom's movies and is a family member.
Oh, wait. I found him on a completed courses list back in '89 with Tom. I'm hoping that the scarcity of his name on the lists, FAQs, etc. may mean he's since drifted out, but he is after all a Mapother.
