I had heard that when he was in his prime, Jim Carrey liked to call the clams up and claim to be interested in joining just so he could laugh as they all wet themselves thinking about his millions of dollars.

Even more that Tom, my least favourite Scientologist is Kelly Preston. That smug face. That carefully cultivated smugness. Her delusions of relevance.
GOD! Why does she have to exist!

I just stummbled across this thread here, and I love it! After the recent Tiny Tom episodes some people on the board shared some links so I can further educate myself on this cult and no doubt about it, it's a cult. They also shared a list of celeb cult members and so far I have been able to avoid everyone of them. If they make music, I don't buy or listen to it, if they are on TV or movie I don't watch it and ask others not to. So far I haven't missed a thing and it makes me feel like I'm helping all the victims of this cult, it's at least a little payback and since we know the cult is all about the money it's the best way I can work against them.

Christianity has some strange beliefs, but Jesus, (I'm talking about the historical figure-he probably existed, whether or not he was divine, or did everything he was said to have done) was a pretty damned nice guy. Love your neighbor, give to the poor, don't be a hypocrite, be nice to people, basically, don't be a jackass. The ultimate bleeding-heart do-gooder.
L. Ron Hubbard? Jackass.

Yeah, I don't remember reading the bible story about how Jesus woke up one day and decided he needed some money, so he told everyone he was God's son and that they all owed him their life savings and their firstborn children. Yeesh.

Those questions are hilariously obvious. Why don't they just ask "Are you going to be easily trapped by our cult?" and be done with it.

And Bad Science fiction. As a regular reader of Sci Fi and Fantasy, that much is blatently apparent to me. I can name a dozen books with more believable myth structures than Xenu and his Amazing Thetan Ghosts. L.Ron Hubbard was always a hack writer. He just got lucky. When I think of Scientology and it's roots in crappy scifi, it's a wonder that those easily led folks aren't following the teachings of Robert Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land", grokkin' all the free love in group marriages. Heinlein got weird about sex as he got older; his earlier books are so different than his later sex romps that I can only assume he turned into a dirty old man. I guess L. Ron Hubbard decided he wanted money instead of sex. Edited to add: D'oh! I didn't know there was a connection between Heinlein and Hubbard, and that Heinlein contributed to Dianetics. : Crap, now I have even less respect for that dirty old man. And I used to love his books. Bah, Heinlein is dead to me. And not just because he's, you know, dead.

Well if someone wants to start a Buffy cult, count me in!
And that pscyc test? Why not just have one question, "Are you easily led?"?
[Homer Simpson voice]Yes, I am the suggestable type[/Homer]
