I'm always wondering this as well. Last I looked Kabbalah was done on 20/20(?) or something, complete with secret cameras taping all these people coercing individuals to pay to go to their holy land with their panacea water to the point of "sell all your stuff, this is really important!". So why not the clams? I don't want to believe that the $cienos have infiltrated the media to the point that there can't be any exposing of it's inherent shadiness.
Also, go ahead Glamour. I'm going to buy that issue, just because.

I don't think Oprah will be covering the clams. She has a very close friendship with Tom and is friendly with Kirstie Alley. Oprah loves being around famous people so much she would not so anything to jeopardize it.
They say Tom was in a hotel room with Oprah the night before he proposed to Katie. (wow 2 stars in a room and I have no dirty thoughts, weird)

I've been wondering if Oprah is a closeted clam. She is awfully friendly with a bunch of clams (Tiny Tommy, Kirstie Alley, John Travolta, etc).

Yeah, they're pretty much a branch of Co$, as far as I know. They just try to obscure that fact so that unsuspecting people will be taken in when the "President of the Citizen's Commission on Human Rights" supports Co$ ideals. If I recall correctly, both of the Masterson brothers played for this "charity" on Celebrity Poker Showdown.

One of the best bits ever on Conan tonight, where a guy wearing a big Mayor McCheese head announces that he's a Scientologist.
When Conan asks him how long he's been one, Mayor McCheese answers: "I was married to Anne Archer in the seventies."

I do think that they're trying to "convert" her. Though Oprah is from a strong christian background. Makes me wonder of CTC's repeated "you can be a christian and a scientologist" is actually aimed at Oprah. Oprah is very influential as far as trends - she pushes books, movies, fashion items. If she were to join a cult and talk about it on her show. it would be a huge feather in their cap. They'd have rich women all over the nation looking into the latest 'fad". And just THINK of how far Oprah could advance in "level" in C0$ with all the millions she has to spend!

Oh, God. I can see it already:
YOU get an audit, YOU get an audit, YOU get an audit, EVERYBODY gets an AUDIT!!
It would be one of the signs of the approaching apocalypse for sure.

"Front organization" is the correct term. The Citizen's Commission on Human Rights, Narconon, Criminon, Applied Scholastics, and The Way to Happiness Foundation are all front organizations for spreading Scientology under the guise of helping people get off drugs or helping them learn to read. If you go to a personal Scientology website, like Corin Nemec's, under "Websites I Support" they all have the exact same ones.

Wow, Ginger, it's scary how the clams can hide all of their craziness and pseudoscience behind such benevolent-sounding names. Kind of like how the Ministry of Peace was concerned with warfare, and the Ministry of Love was concerned with imprisonment and torture. ETA: National Lampoon's take on Dianetics.
