Indeed - he has smoked for years and has denied that cancer is related at all to smoking. He's also spent a career being perfectly vile to people with whom he disagrees.

May he receive all the care and compassion he has extended to others in his lifetime. Yes, this is what I was looking for.

As a cancer survivor, I'm empathetic toward anyone going through it, especially those in the advanced stages.
That said Limbaugh is a piece of shit human being, which overrides most of my empathy.

I want him to go fast for the simple reason that he'll be forgotten in all the caucus, impeachment, and election news.

Both The Roomie and I have seen lung cancer kill people in our family-and I feel bad. He's terrible, but so is cancer. Can I wish for a more Wile E. Coyote death? Random anvil? Rocket skates?

Lung cancer is a nasty one. My paternal grandfather died of emphysema, which many in his family also had, but his doctor also mentioned he had lung cancer too. I'm sorry you, and The Roomie, have lost many family members to the disease. As far as the idea of a Wile E. Coyote death? I'd watch that. Not gonna lie.

May he receive all the care and compassion he has extended to others in his lifetime. We reap what we sow. I am trying, truly trying, not to take any joy in this news, solely because I hate it when someone I respect politically is maligned when they die by people who do not agree with them. I don't want to be a hypocrite. But Rush has transcended conservative and liberal. He has made a fortune on being an awful human being. He has contributed to the divide in this country, for his own personal benefit. So I will agree with MrsOMB. For someone with his ego and narcissism, going at 69 must be unfathomable. I am sure he probably thought he would live to 100.

I wondered if maybe he was secretly a philanthropist, and donated tons of money to a worthy cause. Not that that would take back things he'd said and done, but might have shown a dimension of humanity. I found one website that said he and his wife had donated $600K to a leukemia charity, and then I found another website that said he had a net worth of $84.5 million, so it's possible that he does give anonymously, but I really doubt it.

I just lost a much beloved uncle to lung cancer a few months ago, so I cannot take any joy in this. Cancer sucks.
However, I will shed no tears for Rush. I'll just go on ignoring him like I've been doing for my entire adult life.
