I guess no one had Mitch Hedberg...he was only 37. Fuck, this one makes me sad. He always made me giggle uncontrollably. He was way too young to go.

Sources are saying heart attack, and that his wife was with him. It could easily be drug-related, since he'd reportedly struggled with substance abuse in the past.

I think someone might have had Mitch Hedberg at TSTSNBN. But I don't think he was reclaimed here. Sadly, it's not much of a surprise. I've heard stories of massive drug and alcohol abuse. Too bad, though. He was hilarious, and his style was original.

Aw, man, that is so depressing. I loved Mitch Hedberg. So, the rumer is that he fell victim to the mid-30's/Chris Farley/John Belushi thing?

I saw Hedberg perform at Giggles in Seattle a few years ago, and I can verify the substance abuse, at least for that night. He could barely stand upright, and held onto the mic stand for balance. Drool was running out the corners of his mouth and dripping off his chin. He screwed up several jokes and repeated a few more. At one point he asked the audience if anyone had any Ambien. (I did, but decided to not share.) So while his passing didn't come as a huge surprise, it is still very sad - a goddam waste of great talent.
