On the topic of Val Kilmer, I saw him on Conan O'Brien a few days ago (I think it was a rerun?), and the following exchange was had:
Conan: In Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang you play a gay character. You've never done that before, have you? Kilmer: Well, there was Top Gun.
LOL! Of course, the snarky part of me hopes Val intended that as an indirect comment on CTC -- although whether he did or not, that totally made me shoot Coke out of my eyeball.

That's priceless, Karrit!
I'm as surprised as anyone to find something CZJ said that's worthy of the Celebrity Good Quotes thread, but I whole-heartedly agree with this little morsel from IMDB:

Phil Collins: "I'm a musician and have nothing to say about politics." Thank you, Phil Collins. I hate your music but thank you for keeping your political views to yourself. ETA - He was in Tel Aviv at the time, a place where almost EVERYONE has political views.

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I find Sharon Osbourne's (yeah I KNOW) comments on the prejudice against overweight people kind of...smart. link

Not so much smart, she has empathy. Nothing wrong with that, at all. Better than someone like Tyra Banks who dresses up in a fat suit, gets discriminated against for being fat, then brings two actual overweight women on the show, sits between them, and then cries about her own pain.

I just read Sharon's comments on Mother Theresa. Whoah! I recant.
Tyra Banks actually did that? That reminds me of when Gwyneth Paltrow wore her Shallow Hal fat suit out and about and was devastated that no men paid any attention to her. She said how hard it was for her and "every pretty girl" should experience that. Even when she is trying to be nice, she is a self-absorbed little twit.

She said how hard it was for her and "every pretty girl" should experience that. Even when she is trying to be nice, she is a self-absorbed little twit. I agree that she's a self-absorbed twit, however, I think her words have been twisted around on her in this case. If I recall, what she was saying was that it was an eye-opener for her to walk around in the "fat suit" and realize that people don't look at you when you're unnattractive. I believe she said something to the effect that it was like being a non-person. Somewhere along the line it got misinterpreted to the point where people claimed she was whining that people didn't know that it was her -- Gwyneth Paltrow -- under the costume and it was a personal affront to her. I think this was one of the few times where she was making a valid point (society doesn't notice you if you don't look a certain way) but somehow it got twisted around. No doubt she phrased it all wrong so that it came out sounding like it was all about her. And, for a change, it wasn't.

I think what I mostly took issue was to her referring to herself as a "pretty girl." Modesty isn't one of her best virtues.
